Job summary

NCR Voyix is hiring an experienced Oracle DBA to provide daily support for both on-prem and cloud databases. You will manage backups, patching, performance tuning, and production support, while designing HA/DR solutions and participating in a globally distributed 24/7 support team.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in Oracle DBA, strong SQL tuning skills, and extensive DR/HA experience with Data Guard and GoldenGate. VM and cloud familiarity, plus solid networking knowledge, are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
• 2+ years of experience writing and tuning SQL.
• 8+ years of experience with DR solutions such as Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate.
• 8+ years of experience managing Oracle RMAN.
• 8+ years of experience configuring and testing HA/DR setups.
• Experience in a 24/7 global support environment.
• Strong communication skills and understanding of VM and cloud computing.
• Familiarity with network concepts like TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, DNS.

In this key role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide daily support for databases both on prem and in cloud. Implement the technical procedures, standards and security for support of databases managed by ITS. Help document the design, accessibility, and maintenance of database systems both on prem and in cloud. Daily tasks will include but are not limited to managing backups, database patching, performance tuning and general production support. Design, develop, and maintain optimized databases for development, testing, production, and training.
• Designing and implementing database solution for support High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Database Capacity Management. Be part of a global team that provided 24/7 databases support. Help Identify database tools which enable efficient database development, management, and utilization.

Required Skills and Experience:

• BS/BA in Computer Engineering, MIS or equivalent degree
• 10+ year experience as an Oracle DBA
• 2+ year experience writing and tuning SQL.
• 8+ year experience with DR solution like Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate.
• 8+ year experience managing Oracle Rman
• 8+ year Experiences setting-up/managing both HA and DR configurations and test.
• Experience working in a 24/7 global support group
• Self-motivated and goal oriented
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of VM and cloud computing
• Understanding of Network concepts like TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, DNS

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Understanding of VM and cloud computing

• Experience with MySQL a plus
• Experience with Postgres a plus
