Job summary

NCR Voyix Corporation invites applications for an experienced Oracle DBA to join our global 24/7 production support team in Chennai. You will design, implement and operate high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, patch and tune databases, and manage backups for on‑prem and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience, strong SQL tuning skills, and hands‑on experience with Data Guard, GoldenGate and RMAN, plus solid VM/cloud understanding and excellent

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Engineering, MIS or equivalent degree.
• 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience.
• 2+ years of SQL writing and tuning.
• 8+ years with DR solutions such as Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate.
• 8+ years managing Oracle RMAN.
• 8+ years setting up/managing HA and DR configurations and testing.
• Experience in a 24/7 global support group.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of VM and cloud computing.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, DNS.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support for databases on prem and in cloud.
• Implement procedures and security for databases managed by ITS.
• Document design, accessibility, and maintenance of database systems.
• Manage backups, patching, performance tuning, and production support.
• Design, develop, and maintain optimized databases for development, testing, production, and training.
• Design and implement HA/DR solutions and capacity management.
• Be part of a global 24/7 database support team.

Required Skills and Experience

• BS/BA in Computer Engineering, MIS or equivalent degree
• 10+ year experience as an Oracle DBA
• 2+ year experience writing and tuning SQL.
• 8+ year experience with DR solution like Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate.
• 8+ year experience managing Oracle Rman
• 8+ year Experiences setting-up/managing both HA and DR configurations and test.
• Experience working in a 24/7 global support group
• Self-motivated and goal oriented
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of VM and cloud computing
• Understanding of Network concepts like TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, DNS
