Job summary

MiQ, Bengaluru-based, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own end-to-end analytics projects and pitch data-driven solutions to client challenges. You will collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Sales, and product teams to deliver actionable insights and scalable ML models.

You will apply ML, statistics, and data mining in cloud environments, with PySpark/RSpark for large-scale data. The role requires mentoring, recruitment participation, and ongoing research to innovate.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience applying machine learning, statistical pattern recognition, and data mining to prediction problems.
• Proficient in Python or R.
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms and applications.
• Experience with SQL and Excel.
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Ability to build data pipelines and ML models in cloud-based environments.
• Experience at scale using PySpark/RSpark.
• Strong statistical understanding and measurement of ML impact.
• Familiarity with agile development and version control.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for end-to-end project delivery and independently own analytics capabilities.
• Identify client challenges and pitch custom or existing data science solutions with business impact.
• Provide actionable recommendations from analyses and storytell insights to stakeholders.
• Drive growth of generalized capabilities over internal and open-source data sources.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Data scientist in our data science department, you'll have the chance to:

• Be accountable for end-to-end project delivery. Able to independently own and pitch/execute new analytics capabilities. Have continuous communication with Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering on accounts, deliverable timelines and progress of tasks.
• Seek opportunities for understanding client's challenges and actively pitching custom or existing data science capabilities having business impact
• Ability to provide recommendations and actionable outcomes from the outputs generated and create a narrative to be shared with the market. Should be able to visualize the outputs easily understood by stakeholders and stitch a story linking to other media aspects being presented
• Drive growth of generalized capabilities over MiQ's or open-source data sources. Able to identify, infer and evaluate capabilities to enhance current solutions or create new ones
• Scale strategic accounts by improving existing solutions or being able to build over existing capabilities
• Drive new initiatives for operational excellence within the team within data science, coding, product and tech
• Working with locals leads to aligning to respective regional strategies. Identify opportunities and provide updates on team capabilities and support on accounts where needed
• Able to generalize capabilities and workflows increasing team's Efficiency
• Initiatives to research and come up with new ideas to experiment with and leading up to new capabilities creating business impact
• Research new developments across data science and educate team members by trying new POCs
• Should be able to mentor and guide new hires or interns
• Active participation in recruitment, designing and managing assignments and interviews
• Committed to delivering the best towards organization's goals and values
• Provide constructive feedback to counterparts and work on received feedback
• Drive brainstorming sessions/ Hackathons/sharing best cases within the team or externally

Who are your stakeholders?

• Account managers, traders, sales and analysts: you'll build solutions that are used primarily by internal customers through our proprietary platforms like Lab and Hub. Usually, the requirements and any feedback will go through our project management team.
• Product management: you'll build solutions as part of the product roadmaps, and these will be used by advertisers and agencies. Any feedback will come from our client-facing product management team.

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of experience in applying machine learning, statistical pattern recognition, and data mining algorithms to prediction problems, Experienced coder in Python/R
• Strong understanding of ML algos and applications
• Experienced in SQL and good hands-on Excel
• Experience working in cloud environments preferably AWS. Ability to write and produce data pipelines and ML models in a cloud-based environment
• Experience with working at scale using (Pyspark/Rspark)
• Strong hands-on experience of applying ML techniques to business problems. Should have a good understanding of statistics.
• Good measuring mind frame for measuring impact of ML models
• Maintaining code versions and experience working in an agile mode
• A can-do attitude, with a dream to grow alongside us.
