Job summary

Nielsen is seeking a Lease Accounting Specialist in Mumbai to manage accurate lease data, post journal entries, and perform monthly closings in line with US GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP. You will calculate ROUA and lease liabilities for manual leases, generate stakeholder reports, and ensure IFRS 16/ASC 842 compliance.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience, a finance degree (CA/CMA/ACCA preferred), and strong ERP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in lease accounting is preferred.
• Experience with US GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP is desirable.
• Strong Excel and workflow automation skills are required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate lease data in the designated system.
• Prepare and post lease-related journal entries per GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP.
• Calculate ROUA and lease liability for manual leases.
• Perform monthly closing activities for leases.
• Prepare lease-related reports for stakeholders.
• Ensure IFRS 16/ASC 842 compliance.
• Collaborate with finance, legal and operations to gather lease info.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
• Optionally experience with SAP S4/ECC or large ERP.
• Leverage advanced Excel and workflow automation to streamline processes.

Job Description

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date lease data in the designated system.
• Prepare and post lease-related journal entries in accordance with accounting standards US GAAP/ IFRS/Local GAAP.
• Calculate ROUA & lease liability valuation for manual leases.
• Perform monthly closing activities related to leases, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Prepare and analyze lease-related reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant lease accounting standards (IFRS 16/ASC 842/Local GAAP)
• Collaborate with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather necessary lease information.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required.
• Prior experience of working on SAP S4/ECC or a large ERP platform (Optional)
• Expert in advanced Excel and workflow automation to streamline process

Qualifications

• Experience range 1-3 Years
• Graduation in Finance (CA/CMA/ACCA preferred)
