Job summary

Northern Trust in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced data and BI specialist to join the Trade and Settlements Operations team. You will design and maintain MIS systems, build dashboards in Power BI, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

You will collaborate with global stakeholders, implement governance, and support automation initiatives using Power Platform, Alteryx, and UI Path. A strong background in BFSI IT services and a degree is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of BFSI/IT services experience is preferred.
  • Strong experience with Power BI and Power Platform tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain MIS systems and dashboards.
  • Lead data reporting migrations and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Develop governance and project execution plans for data initiatives.

Summary

There is an opportunity for an “experienced and knowledgeable” applicant to join the Trade and Settlements Operations Team in Bangalore/Pune, India. Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for helping manage MIS, Process Control & Project activities on behalf of T&S Management globally.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and Maintaining MIS Systems: Designing, implementing, and managing information systems that collect, store, and analyse data to support business operations.
  • Implement Management Vision for Data and Reporting migration to new age tools, reducing Manual efforts.
  • Analyze operational procedures and processes, working with the business to identify areas for automation, to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with Global functional managers in various processes / projects to ensure communication and smooth implementation.
  • Implement project governance Including Planning, Reporting and resourcing.
  • Partner with business, product, operations, and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into clear functional and technical designs.
  • Secretariat to key project meetings: clear, timely concise minutes.
  • Ownership of tracking actions to resolution.
  • Support and drive system changes and strategic initiatives - Elicit, analyse, outline and develop requirements by coordinating with business and technology teams.
  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models, delivering actionable business insights.
  • Serve as a Change Advocate; establish trust within the corresponding business teams; gain enthusiasm within the teams.
  • Collaborate with internal control team and provide Guidance.
  • Act as a Power Platform SME, supporting solution adoption, mentoring team members, and enabling continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Technical Skills Proven track record in implementing projects on Power Bi .Experience on new age low or no code tools like Alteryx, UI Path & Power Platforms Including –Power Apps and Automate will be an added advantage.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve complex business problems.
  • Deep understanding of Agile and Waterfall project implementation methodologies and their application
  • A good working knowledge of all phases of the project management life cycle (including initiating, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure)
  • Experience working across UI, workflow orchestration, Power Query, Dataverse, SQL, and backend data sources.
  • Familiarity with enterprise governance, security, and solution lifecycle management.
  • Having experience of Copilot/Copilot Studio/GitHub Copilot will be advantage for this role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills along with good interpersonal skills.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.

External: Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of related experience in BFSI/IT Services (Banking Client) is must.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Accounting, Fund Services, or Operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
  • Microsoft Power Platform or M365 certifications are a plus.

Eligibility for Internal partners 24 months as a Consultant/Team Leader to move as a Senior Consultant Movement within Senior Consultant and Section Manager is applicable only after spending 1 year in current role.
