Job Summary
Siemens is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Cloud / Kubernetes Platform to design, implement, automate, and maintain highly available cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Linux, Kafka, GitOps, monitoring, and disaster recovery, along with proven experience managing production environments.
CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, administer, and maintain production Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, vCluster, and KubeVela.
- Implement and maintain highly available cloud and hybrid environments with defined RTO/RPO requirements.
- Work with AWS services including VPC, Subnets, ELB, EC2, ECS, EBS Snapshots, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and SQS.
- Design and maintain cloud-agnostic event and data pipelines using Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
- Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform and Python.
- Manage Linux servers and troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues.
- Implement backup, restore, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery using Velero, S3, RDS PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and EBS Snapshots.
- Implement and manage Git/GitLab-based development and deployment workflows.
- Configure and maintain SSO and user management solutions using Keycloak and/or Okta.
- Implement service mesh and observability solutions using Istio, Kiali, Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Implement and manage GitOps practices using ArgoCD and/or FluxCD.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, scalability, reliability, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to troubleshoot complex technical problems and deliver reliable solutions.
Mandatory Skills
- 6–8 years of relevant IT experience
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) – Mandatory
- Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes
- Production experience with Docker and Helm
- Strong AWS experience
- Hands‑on experience with Linux administration
- Experience with Terraform and/or Python automation
- Strong understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, RTO and RPO
- Experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience with Git/GitLab
- Experience managing production environments and troubleshooting infrastructure issues
