Job summary

Chargebee seeks a Senior Business Analyst to bridge enterprise customers and engineering, leading requirements discovery, defining integration logic, and translating business needs into actionable technical specs. You will ensure solutions are scoped precisely, feasible technically, and delivered with confidence.

This role sits at the intersection of business analysis, technical consulting, and customer success, mapping API flows and conducting requirements workshops across customer operations

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, or in similar requirements-led roles.
• BS / MS in Computer Science, MBA, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of solving complex, multi-system problems.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and system integration patterns — read API documentation and map requirements to technical flows.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document detailed business and functional requirements from customers through structured discovery sessions.
• Define end-to-end scope with product managers and implementation consultants and document it clearly.
• Understand customer workflows and inform solution design with high-level system architecture.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Define API interactions, system flows, and integration logic between Chargebee and third-party platforms.
• Lead solutions discussions and outline feasible approaches using APIs and custom workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and project managers in agile environments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support UAT, coordinate go-live sign-off, and mentor junior BAs on process and documentation standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to be the bridge between our enterprise customers and the engineering team within Adaptive Solutions. You will lead requirements discovery, define integration logic, and translate complex business needs into actionable technical specifications — ensuring every solution we build is scoped precisely, feasible technically, and delivered with confidence

.This is a uniquely demanding role at the intersection of business analysis, technical consulting, and customer success. You will be as comfortable mapping an API flow as you are running a requirements workshop with a customer's operations team — and you will have a sharp instinct for identifying what to commit to, and what to flag as a risk.

Requirements & Discovery

• Gather and document detailed business and functional requirements from customers through structured discovery sessions.
• Work with customers, product managers, and implementation consultants to define end-to-end scope and document it clearly.
• Understand customer workflows and existing system architecture at a high level to inform solution design.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.

Technical Analysis & Solution Design

• Define API interactions, system flows, and integration logic between Chargebee and third-party platforms.
• Identify edge cases, constraints, and cross-system dependencies before development begins.
• Participate in solution discussions and help outline feasible approaches using APIs and custom workflows.
• Create functional documents, process flows, and integration diagrams that serve as the engineering blueprint.

Delivery & Execution

• Work closely with engineering, QA, and project managers in an agile/scrum setup throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in defining success criteria and validating solution outcomes against agreed requirements.
• Proactively raise risks, blockers, and requirement gaps during project execution — never let ambiguity sit unaddressed.
• Support UAT, assist merchants during testing, and coordinate go-live sign-off.
• Lead strategic initiatives independently, owning the full BA lifecycle from feasibility to delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior BAs on process improvement, documentation standards, and analytical rigour.
• Drive team efficiency through better tooling, templates, and repeatable frameworks.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Must-Haves

• 6–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, or in a similar requirements‑led role.
• BS / MS in Computer Science, MBA, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of solving complex, multi‑system problems.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and system integration patterns — able to read API documentation and map business requirements to technical flows.
• Hands‑on experience with Postman for API testing and validation.
• Proficiency with tools like Confluence, JIRA, and Google Docs for documentation and project tracking.
• Exposure to AI tools for research and productivity enhancement.
• Deep empathy for customers and a passion for delivering solutions they love.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills — able to operate effectively across multiple time zones.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle in an agile/scrum environment.
• Strategic thinking and prioritisation skills; ability to make trade‑off decisions and communicate them decisively.

Good to Have

• Experience in subscription billing, payments, or revenue management platforms.
• Exposure to middleware / iPaaS tools such as Workato or similar automation platforms.
• Familiarity with diagramming tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Draw.io.
• Basic understanding of JSON structures and data payloads.
• Experience in financial, data analytics, or fintech domains.
• Background in a customer‑facing, professional services, or consulting‑oriented role.
