Job summary

Chargebee, a leading billing and monetization platform, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Growth Suite team. You'll build monetization features and experimentation workflows with strong emphasis on Java/Spring backend and React/Vue frontend.

You’ll own pricing pages, offers, and experiments end-to-end, collaborating with designers and PMs to deliver high-quality, scalable customer experiences that help our customers acquire, expand, and retain users.

Qualifications

About the Team

Our Growth Suite team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer — someone who’s excited about building the monetization and experimentation layer that powers how businesses acquire, expand, and retain customers.

About the role (Job Summary)

This is a full-stack engineering role, with a strong emphasis on Java/Spring (backend) and React/Vue/Angular (frontend) development.

You’ll be working on creating powerful yet easy-to-use customer experiences across acquisition, expansion, and retention flows — making growth workflows low-code, fast, and delightful for businesses.

What you’ll do (role and responsibilities)

• Build and scale full-stack features around pricing pages, offer management, and experimentation workflows
• Translate product requirements into clean, high-quality code across backend and frontend
• Own modules end-to-end — from implementation to production support
• Collaborate with designers and PMs to deliver user-centric monetization experiences
• Optimize performance, scalability, and security for high-traffic pricing and checkout flows
• Contribute to team best practices, code reviews, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring (required skills and experience)

4–6 years of hands-on software development experience

• Strong backend skills with Java/Spring, and experience building scalable APIs
• Proficiency in React or Vue, with an eye for building dynamic, interactive UIs
• Strong debugging skills and attention to detail across the stack
• A product mindset — you care about the why, not just the how
• Bonus points for experience with pricing pages, checkout flows, billing, or experimentation platforms.

Nice to have (preferred)

• Daily hands-on use of AI coding tools, with a clear sense of when they help and when they don't
• A clear line between AI-generated code and production-ready code, you review, test, and own everything you ship
• Ability to write clear, specific prompts that get consistent, high-quality output from LLMs
• A habit of breaking work into small, reviewable chunks instead of accepting large AI-generated changes wholesale
