Job summary

Chargebee is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CRM Integrations team in Chennai, India. You will own and evolve CRM integration solutions, ensuring seamless, scalable connectors with leading CRM platforms.

You'll design, develop, and maintain integration frameworks, collaborate with product and success teams, and mentor junior engineers while applying Agile practices in a cloud-based, high-throughput environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience building distributed, high-throughput systems.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Webhooks, GraphQL, and data synchronization patterns.
• Willingness to learn and integrate with enterprise CRM platforms like Salesforce.
• Experience with cloud-based large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize production systems.
• Strong debugging and observability using tools like Postman, Datadog, and Splunk.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and applying Agile practices.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence.

About the Role (Job Summary)

In this role, you will own and evolve the current CRM integration solutions to ensure Chargebee customers experience smooth and scalable integration. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrations that strengthen Chargebee's position as the preferred subscription billing solution for enterprises.

Must Have

• 5 - 7 years of proven experience in building distributed systems to handle high throughput, low latency, and event‑driven architecture.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Webhooks, GraphQL, and data synchronization patterns.
• Willingness and demonstrated ability to learn enterprise CRM platforms like Salesforce and integrate with them.
• Experience working on large‑scale systems in the Cloud.
• Experience creating/supporting production‑grade systems with proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Strong debugging skills with tools such as Postman, Datadog, and Splunk.
• Excellent communication skills — ability to simplify complex integration scenarios for both technical and business stakeholders.
• Effective team player with experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA/Confluence.

Nice to Haves

• Experience building and managing enterprise‑grade integrations is an advantage.
• Prior work experience in HubSpot or Salesforce CRM is an advantage.
• Familiarity with observability tools like New Relic or Datadog.

Education and Experience

B.E. / B.Tech or higher with 5 - 7 years of engineering experience, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer.
