Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a skilled CAD/Revit detailer to join our Structural Engineering Team in India. The role focuses on providing Revit and AutoCAD support on projects, developing general arrangements, sections and details, and coordinating with design teams.

You will ensure models are produced to high standards, align with BIM execution plans, and assist with CAD estimates and project templates. This position requires coordination across India and UK teams.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD; ability to coach junior staff.
• Experience delivering CAD drawings for concrete and steel structures.
• Familiar with BIM360, Navisworks and industry standards.
• Ability to work on India/UK project environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing project CAD strategies and drawing production methods.
• Comply with BIM Execution Plans and project templates.
• Coordinate with team on setting out coordinates, grid lines, and levels.
• Develop GA, section and detail drawings from sketches and other inputs.
• Produce model to high standard, minimizing errors and clashes.
• Input to coordination of Architectural, MEP models; ensure adherence to CAD standards.
• Use templates and library items for CAD work; perform self-checks.

To work as part of our Structural Engineering Team and provide CAD(Revit) support on projects

Responsibilities

Core Functions

• Assist project establishment by agreeing and contributing towards a project inception review,project planning documents, drawing strategy, scales and size of drawings along with drawing numbering to company standards and suggesting methods of drawing production to ensure efficient methods of working are being practiced.
• Comply with BIM Execution Plans
• Agree, deliverables, resource requirements, deadlines, and priorities for drawing production with project team prior to commencing.
• Discuss and agree setting out coordinates, grid lines, floor levels and building details with other members of the team.
• Develop general arrangement, section and detail drawings from Engineer’s sketches and other Design Team members drawings and details, and develop these into co-ordinated building models, drawings and details.
• Produce the model to a high standard eliminating errors and clashes
• Input to the co-ordination of Architectural and MEP models on projects
• Produce work to specified WSP CAD standards
• Use the available templates, menus and supporting documentation for CAD work and available library items to assist design work
• Perform self check on models all drawings to a high standard
• Plan to ensure all drawings reviews are completed in a timely manner prior to issuing.
• Follow QA procedures, document control, archiving and CDM guidelines on all work
• Work with project team members on specified aspects of the project
• Provide advice and coaching to colleagues on intermediate CAD functions when requested
• Demonstrate initiative throughout the project life span.
• Knowledge of setting up project template files
• Knowledge of setting up custom worksets.
• Knowledge of Revit Phasing.
• Knowledge of Uniclass 2015
• Familiarity with PAS1192 and BS1192 series of standards
• Experience working within a Common Data Environment (CDE) for rejecting and approving documents
• Knowledge of software file types and extensions

Key Competencies / Skills

• Mandatory Skills
• Expert knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and to be able to use all the standard functions on the software and to coach junior staff in its use.
• As detailer prepares detailed plans, drawings and other documents for the manufacture, construction of concrete structures and erection of steel members (columns, beams, braces, trucsses, stairs, handrails, joists, metal deckin, etc.) used in the construction of buildings and non building structures.
• Review and check accuracy of Structural drawings using check list and group standards.
• Use of AutoCAD, BIM360 and Navisworks
• Use of Microsoft /Office 365 and MS Teams
• Experience of working on several medium size projects, as the sole CAD support or as part of a wider CAD team
• Experience of working on a variety of projects across different sectors
• Understand structural mechanics and how buildings are put together
• Good understanding of the role of Consulting Engineers and your part in this
• Understand RIBA work stages, LOD and drawing requirements at each stage
• Implement of lesson learn and how can they be used for future project
• Coordinate with other diciplines
