Job summary

Sandhata Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to build a cloud-native, event-driven platform for proactive broadband diagnostics. You will design and deliver scalable backend solutions, develop microservices, and integrate enterprise systems using AWS and Kafka with minimal supervision.

The role requires strong DevOps ownership, including building, deploying, monitoring, and operating services in production environments. Collaboration with Infra/DevOps is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in backend development with Node.js and Python.
• Proven experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Extensive AWS experience including Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, ECS/EKS.
• Experience designing REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or DynamoDB).
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and environment management.
• DevOps practices with build, release, and production ownership.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Support deployments on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS) and ensure smooth releases.
• Implement basic infrastructure configurations using templates (IaC handled by Infra).
• Ensure logging, monitoring, and alerting with CloudWatch, Grafana, etc.
• Assist in troubleshooting production issues and root cause analysis.
• Follow best practices for reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Contribute to automation of development and operational tasks.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to build a cloud-native, event-driven platform for proactive broadband diagnostics.

This role involves independently designing, implementing, and delivering scalable backend solutions, developing microservices, integrating enterprise systems, and enabling real-time customer communication using AWS and Kafka, with minimal supervision.

In addition, the role requires strong DevOps ownership, including building, deploying, monitoring, and operating services in production environments.

Mandatory Skills :

• Strong hands-on experience in backend development (Node.js / Python) (MANDATORY)
• Proven experience with Kafka / event-driven architecture (MANDATORY)
• Strong experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, ECS/EKS)
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB / DynamoDB)
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and environment management
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices including build, release, and operational ownership

Good to Have :

• Telecom domain experience (OSS/BSS, service assurance)

• Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK / OpenSearch)
• Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes (EKS)
• Experience in event-driven testing and mocking frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment in collaboration with the Infra/DevOps team
• Support application deployments on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS) ensuring smooth releases
• Implement basic infrastructure configurations using existing templates/tools (IaC handled primarily by Infra team)
• Ensure adequate logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, etc.
• Assist in troubleshooting production issues and support root cause analysis
• Follow best practices for application reliability, performance, and scalability
• Contribute to automation of development and operational tasks where applicable

Key Expectation:

Candidates must have real-world experience building event-driven systems using Kafka and AWS (not just theoretical or POC-level work).
