Akraya, Inc. is seeking a strong Backend Developer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems and backend applications. You will work with Java and Python, implement microservices, and handle production issues to improve performance and reliability.

The role involves building automation, supporting high-throughput systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on sprint plans. Location is Bengaluru, with hybrid work arrangement and 10+ months contract.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant backend engineering experience.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a strong Backend Developer to build, operate, and improve large-scale distributed systems and backend applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java and Python, distributed systems, microservices, Kafka/event streaming, and production engineering. This role requires someone who can not only develop new features but also debug complex production issues, improve system performance and reliability, build automation, and work with high-scale systems handling large volumes of data and traffic.
