Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to migrate on-prem apps to AWS, design secure, scalable architectures, and automate with Terraform or CloudFormation. You will integrate Bedrock/SageMaker/OpenAI APIs for AI-enabled workloads and enable AI-driven DevOps throughout migrations.

The role requires 5–8 years in cloud migration, deep AWS knowledge, and strong IaC and CI/CD experience. Collaboration across teams and delivery of cost-efficient solutions are key.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional cloud engineering and migration experience.
• Strong AWS compute/storage/database/networking know-how.
• Experience with IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automation.
• Knowledge of Gen AI services and LLM-based use cases.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end migrations of on-prem applications to AWS using Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor methods.
• Inspect existing infrastructure, document dependencies, and define the migration strategy.
• Design AWS architectures that optimize cost while meeting security and scalability expectations.
• Use AWS migration tools such as MGN, DMS, DataSync, and Snowball to execute migrations.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation as IaC.
• Automate deployments and releases with GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline.
• Configure monitoring and logging through CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into cloud workloads to support automation, chatbots, and analytics insights.
• Apply Generative AI services in AWS with Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs.
• Enable AI-driven automation throughout DevOps and migration processes.

We are building a team around a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to rehost, replatform, and refactor on-prem applications on AWS. You will create secure, scalable, cost-optimized architectures, automate with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD, and use Bedrock/SageMaker/OpenAI APIs for AI-enabled workloads.

Requirements

• Strong 5-8 years of professional experience in cloud engineering and migration projects
• Expertise across AWS compute services, including EC2, Lambda, and ECS/EKS
• Proficiency with AWS storage services such as S3, EBS, and EFS
• Sound knowledge of AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Background in AWS networking fundamentals including VPC, VPN, and Direct Connect
• Experience with AWS security services including IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager
• Hands-on exposure to AWS migration tools such as MGN, DMS, and DataSync/Snowball
• Proven ability to use Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline
• Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus
• Basic to intermediate experience with Generative AI services including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM-based application use cases
