Job summary

EPAM Systems hosts a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to lead on-prem to AWS migrations, designing target architectures and running MGN/DMS/DataSync/Snowball migrations. You will automate delivery via Terraform or CloudFormation and through GitLab CI/Jenkins/CodePipeline.

You will embed AI/ML in workloads, use Bedrock/SageMaker/OpenAI APIs, and establish monitoring with CloudWatch/CloudTrail/Prometheus for secure, scalable results.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of cloud engineering and migration experience
• expert-level AWS compute platforms (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS)
• proficient with AWS storage (S3, EBS, EFS)
• strong knowledge of AWS databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)
• solid understanding of AWS networking (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect)
• familiarity with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager)
• hands-on with migration tooling (MGN, DMS, DataSync, Snowball)
• IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
• CI/CD experience (GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
• monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus)
• familiarity with Generative AI (Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI)
• prompt engineering and LLM use cases

Job description

We are hiring a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to move on-prem workloads to AWS and strengthen them with modern AI services. You will design the target AWS architecture, run MGN/DMS/DataSync/Snowball migrations, and automate delivery via Terraform or CloudFormation and GitLab CI/Jenkins/CodePipeline.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration delivery from on-prem to AWS using Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor techniques
• Evaluate existing environments, discover dependencies, and define the migration strategy
• Architect AWS solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost-optimized
• Operate AWS migration tools including AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), AWS DataSync, and Snowball
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation as IaC
• Create and refine CI/CD automation with GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline
• Set up monitoring and logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus
• Embed AI/ML capabilities into AWS workloads to support chatbots, automation, and insight generation
• Use Generative AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs in cloud solutions
• Advance AI-driven automation across DevOps and migration execution

Requirements

• Extensive 5-8 years of professional experience delivering cloud engineering and migration work
• Expert-level command of AWS compute platforms including EC2, Lambda, and ECS/EKS
• Practical proficiency with AWS storage services such as S3, EBS, and EFS
• Strong understanding of AWS databases, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Solid experience with AWS networking components like VPC, VPN, and Direct Connect
• Well-rounded knowledge of AWS security services including IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager
• Hands-on practice with AWS migration tooling such as MGN, DMS, and DataSync/Snowball
• Strong capability with Infrastructure as Code in Terraform or CloudFormation
• Working experience with CI/CD solutions including GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline
