Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to lead end-to-end migration projects from on-prem to AWS, using rehost, replatform, and refactor approaches. You will design secure, scalable architectures and automate deployments with Terraform or CloudFormation, while integrating AI-enabled workloads.

The role requires strong experience with migration tools and CI/CD pipelines, plus monitoring and AI services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of professional cloud engineering and migration experience.
• Proficiency with AWS compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS), storage (S3, EBS, EFS), and databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
• Strong knowledge of networking (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect) and security (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager).
• Hands-on with migration tools (MGN, DMS, DataSync, Snowball) and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline) and monitoring (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Prometheus).
• Experience deploying Generative AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI) and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end migrations of on-prem apps to AWS using Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor strategies.
• Assess existing infrastructure, document dependencies, and define migration approach.
• Design cost-optimized, secure AWS architectures with scalability in mind.
• Utilize MGN, DMS, DataSync, and Snowball to execute migrations.
• Implement IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation and automate deployments with CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure monitoring and logging via CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into cloud workloads (Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenAI).
• Apply Generative AI services to enhance automation, chatbots, and analytics.

Job description

We are building a team around a Senior AWS Migration Engineer with Gen AI to rehost, replatform, and refactor on-prem applications on AWS. You will create secure, scalable, cost-optimized architectures, automate with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD, and use Bedrock/SageMaker/OpenAI APIs for AI-enabled workloads.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end migrations of on-prem applications to AWS using Rehost, Replatform, and Refactor methods
• Inspect existing infrastructure, document dependencies, and define the migration strategy
• Design AWS architectures that optimize cost while meeting security and scalability expectations
• Use AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), AWS DataSync, and Snowball to execute migrations
• Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation as IaC
• Automate deployments and releases with GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline
• Configure monitoring and logging through CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into cloud workloads to support automation, chatbots, and analytics insights
• Apply Generative AI services in AWS with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs
• Enable AI-driven automation throughout DevOps and migration processes

Requirements

• Strong 5-8 years of professional experience in cloud engineering and migration projects
• Expertise across AWS compute services, including EC2, Lambda, and ECS/EKS
• Proficiency with AWS storage services such as S3, EBS, and EFS
• Sound knowledge of AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Background in AWS networking fundamentals including VPC, VPN, and Direct Connect
• Experience with AWS security services including IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager
• Hands-on exposure to AWS migration tools such as MGN, DMS, and DataSync/Snowball
• Proven ability to use Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CodePipeline
• Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Prometheus
• Basic to intermediate experience with Generative AI services including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and OpenAI APIs
