Job summary

N-able is seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our GOAT and ORC teams in Bangalore, India. You’ll design and implement automated test frameworks for distributed systems and microservices, focusing on Go, GraphQL, Kafka, OpenSearch, and SpiceDB in a cloud-native setting.

You’ll drive test automation, performance testing with K6, and CI/CD integration, collaborating with developers to raise quality across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years total software development experience.
• Design and implement automated test frameworks for complex distributed systems.
• Develop and maintain integration, performance, and reliability tests for services built with Go, GraphQL, and microservices.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the GOAT and ORC teams. This role focuses on building robust, scalable test automation frameworks and tools to validate distributed systems and microservices powering Fusion’s technology stack.

8+ yearsof total software development experience
Design and implement automated test frameworks for complex, event-driven distributed systems.
Develop and maintain integration, performance, and reliability tests for services built with Go, GraphQL, and microservices
Ensure test coverage across gRPC APIs, Kafka Eventing,
DocumentDB, OpenSearch, SpiceDB, and AWS Neptune Apply disciplined engineering behaviours:
Small, meaningful commits
Clear commit messages
High-quality PRs with system impact awareness
Drive adoption of the testing pyramid:
Unit tests (Go, Ginkgo)
Integration tests
Performance tests (K6)
Collaborate with developers to embed quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
Analyse test results, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements for system performance and reliability.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and continuous quality validation.

What You’ll Bring

Strong experience in test automation for distributed systems and
Proficiency in Go and familiarity with Ginkgo for behaviour-driven
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., K6).
Understanding of event-driven architectures, upsert patterns, and distributed data practices.
Knowledge of SpiceDB, AWS Neptune, and OpenSearch is highly
Expertise in cloud-native design and commercial cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development
Excellent analytical and problem-solving
