Job summary

ACG Packaging Machines is seeking an automation engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and release standardized automation solutions for packaging machines using Mitsubishi PLC, Servo, VFD, HMI, and SCADA systems. You will create robust, scalable automation platforms, coordinate with electrical and shopfloor teams, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Travel up to 20% annually for commissioning and customer support.

Qualifications

• BE in E & TC / Instrumentation; 8–10 years of experience programming PLC, VFD, Servo, SCADA for machines.
• Strong Mitsubishi PLC, Servo, SCADA expertise including commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% annually for commissioning and support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation software for packaging machines per functional requirements.

Job description

Responsible for design, develop, integrate, test, and release standardized automation solutions, including PLC, VFD, Servo Drive, HMI, and SCADA software, for ACG Packaging Machines. The role is responsible for creating robust, reliable, and scalable automation platforms by adhering to company engineering guidelines, international standards, and quality processes, ensuring successful machine performance, product standardization, and customer satisfaction.

Strategic and planning:

• Design and develop automation software programs for packaging machines in line with functional and performance requirements.
• Develop the overall automation system architecture, including PLC, Servo, VFD, HMI, SCADA, and communication networks.
• Plan and coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams for software development, hardware integration, commissioning, and technical support.
• Develop testing, simulation, and validation protocols, and execute them to ensure machine performance, reliability, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Plan and execute assigned activities in accordance with organizational project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery of engineering deliverables and product releases.

Functional Core:

• Ensure timely achievement of all project milestones and deliverables related to PLC, VFD, SCADA and Servo software to support successful product launches. Responsible for design, creation and testing of PLC, servo, SCADA software code, in order to meet requirement of the machine
• Design, develop, test, and commission PLC, Servo, and VFD software in accordance with machine functional requirements. Coordinate with electrical and shopfloor team for successfully implementing the program logic and functioning of overall machine.
• Select and size key electrical components, including servo drives, motors and associated automation hardware.

Must to have

• Strong expertise in Mitsubishi PLC, Servo, SCADA programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of mechatronics, machine mechanics, motion control, AI, mechanical linkages, and industrial instrumentation, CE certification
• Coordinate with the Electrical Design and Shopfloor teams to ensure successful implementation, integration, and commissioning of machine automation.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to validate machine automation and software functionality in compliance with quality standards.
• Develop, test, debug, and validate PLC, VFD, and Servo Drive software to ensure reliable machine performance.
• Hands-on experience in automation of packaging machinery, including commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% annually for machine commissioning, customer support, and site activities. Responsible for software testing, release management, version control, and synchronization of PLC, VFD, SCADA and Servo system software through the Master
• Prepare and hand over automation-related inputs for validation documentation, including ITR, DQ, IQ, and OQ, to ensure successful machine qualification and regulatory compliance for the handover of content for ITR, DQ, IQ, OQ Validation document to have confirmed product

Education:

• BE in E & TC /Instrumentation
