Job summary

Sidel in Pune District, India, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to drive automation software for packaging machines. You will lead PLC/Motion/hardware integration, develop standard and safety software, and work closely with hardware and HMI teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in automation, strong Siemens skills, and familiarity with industrial networking. Travel availability and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ENTC, ECE, Instrumentation or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of relevant field experience preferred.
• Fluent English; French/Italian an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development of automation software (standard and safety) until field test and customer support.
• Respect Guidelines Rules in development of the software.
• Coordinate with hardware and HMI teams for integrated solutions.
• Understand electrical design and HMI design comprehensively.
• Participate in functional analysis and FMEA.
• Procure all technical documents linked to the software.
• Test all software following defined methods.
• Support Supply department as needed.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer - Automation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PLC programming, Machine software development, industrial automation, and machine control systems, along with experience managing a team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions for our packaging machines.

Your Mission

• Manage the development of automation software (standard and safety) until field test and customer support.
• Respect Guidelines Rules in development of the software
• Work with a strong relationship with hardware team and HMI team.
• Perfect understanding of electrical design, and HMI design.
• Participate to functional analysis, FMEA
• Procure all technical documents linked to the software
• Test all the software following the method defined.

Your Profile

Education:

• Bachelor s degree in ENTC, ECE, Instrumentation relevant engineering branch

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in MS Office, Outlook
• SAP knowledge
• Language requirements:
• English, written and spoken.
• Fluency in French, Italian is an advantage
• Experience: Min. 3 years of relevant field experience.

Required experience and skills:

• PLC / Motion / Hardware / network / Mechatronic / safety skills
• Strong competence in machine development
• Strong Siemens Skills
• Good working knowledge of industrial networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
• Skills with industrial cyber security concepts: Secure network architecture, User access management
• Ability to work with IT/OT interfaces in a production environment
• BR Skills are advantage
• Experience or exposure to PLC emulation / simulation tools (e.g., Siemens PLCSIM / virtual commissioning) is advantageous
• Beverage s equipment experience is in advantage
