The Team
A&M’s Energy team works with global companies across Oil & Gas, Renewables, Mining, Power & Utilities and Chemical sub‑sectors to provide independent analysis and end‑to‑end support across business transformation programs. Drawing on A&M’s restructuring heritage, the Energy Group combines the best of bias toward action and deep industry experience as both consultants and operators. Our Business Transformation practice is rapidly expanding in the GCC, and we are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Gurgaon/Bangalore team.
How You Will Contribute
Key Responsibilities
- Manage senior client and internal stakeholder relationships at engagement or workstream level.
- Lead client discussions, workshops, and meetings, including interactions with senior leadership.
- Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior audiences.
- Support business development activities, including pitch preparation and proposal contributions in the Energy sector.
- Lead the development and delivery of Energy solutions across O&G, Chemicals, Mining, and Power & Utilities.
- Structure complex problem statements and translate ambiguous client issues into actionable workplans; manage multiple medium‑to‑high complexity workstreams, ensuring end‑to‑end delivery and timely accomplishment of milestones.
- Synthesize analytical outputs into executive‑ready insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate cross‑functional and cross‑border teams to meet deadlines and project objectives.
- Mentor and guide Senior Associates and junior team members in analytical approaches, client interaction, and deliverable development.
- Contribute to training, knowledge‑sharing sessions, recruitment, and capability‑building initiatives within the Energy practice.
- Collaborate with teams to deliver high‑quality client outputs while fostering learning and development opportunities.
- Actively contribute to the growth of the Energy practice through pitch preparation, marketing, and client relationship efforts.
- Participate in practice‑level initiatives to enhance service offerings and build new Energy‑sector products and tools.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree from a Tier‑1 institution with strong academic credentials.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in top‑tier consulting/advisory firms or relevant industry roles (strategy, restructuring, performance improvement, analytics, or operational consulting).
- Deep expertise in at least one Energy sub‑sector (O&G Upstream/Downstream, Chemicals, Mining, or Power & Utilities), with the ability to rapidly apply insights across adjacent sub‑sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing engagements end‑to‑end, including scoping, workplan design, team management, and client communication.
- Advanced hypothesis‑driven problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to frame ambiguous client issues, translate them into structured analyses, and drive clear executive‑level outcomes.
- Strong financial and operational modelling expertise, supporting business cases and executive decision‑making.
- Exceptional executive communication and presence, including facilitation of senior‑level discussions, negotiation of scope and recommendations, and development of high‑impact, client‑ready presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently, prioritize effectively, and deliver under tight deadlines and evolving client expectations.
- High standards of professional integrity, judgment, and discretion, with the confidence to challenge clients constructively and communicate difficult messages clearly.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with preferred hands‑on experience in Alteryx, Power BI, and Python.
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members.
