Job summary

BDO India is seeking a Chartered Accountant for Assurance with 1 to 3 years of experience. You will perform testing procedures, assist seniors, prepare audit work papers, and coordinate with client teams during statutory audits.

Candidates should have strong English, knowledge of auditing standards (Ind AS), and proficiency in Excel. On-site audits across clients, with team supervision responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience into Assurance.
• Strong proficiency in English both written and oral.
• Excellent knowledge of auditing.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, including Ind AS.
• Proficient in using Excel and spreadsheets.
• Experience with audit documentation and completing work papers.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing procedures including substantive and controls testing, vouching, verification.
• Provide support to team manager on audit engagement formalities.
• Handle areas and work allocated including testing and audit procedures.
• Prepare audit work papers and ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and supervise junior team members and act as SPOC for data flow and client communications.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams including client personnel for information/data.
• Support team on standardization of processes, documentation, and analysis of issues.
• Assist in project management and status updates.
• Participate in meetings with teams and contribute to responsibilities handled.
• Stay aware of business & industry issues/trends.
• Ensure timely delivery of working papers per timelines and compliance with engagement plans.

Role & responsibilities

• Performing testing procedures including substantive and controls testing, vouching, verification, etc.


• Provide necessary support to the team manager on audit engagement formalities


• Handle areas and work allocated including testing and relevant audit procedures


• Prepare audit work papers and ensure compliance with firms policies and procedures and also regulatory requirements.


• Manage and supervise junior team members including article staff. Act as a SPOC for the team with the client in terms of data flow, communication, coordination and discussions .


• Coordinate with internal and external teams including client personnel for information/ data


• Support the team on standardization of processes, documentation, analysis of technical issues, and research solutions.


• Support the team manager in project management, preparing status updated, compiling requirements lists, etc


• Participate in meeting with various teams, and contribute for the areas and responsibilities handled.


• Understanding business & industry issues / trends.


• Ensuring timely delivery of working papers as per the defined timelines. Ensuring compliance with engagement plans, internal quality & risk management procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience into Assurance


• Should have strong proficiency in English both written and oral.


• Should possess excellent knowledge of auditing


• Should possess excellent knowledge of accounting standards, including and specifically Ind AS.


• Should have strong proficiency of using excel and spreadsheets.


• Have good understanding of concepts around accounting and auditing, including familiarity with financial statements.


• Relevant articleship experience - primarily and substantially be in statutory audit.


• Have experience of working on site and performing audits, including client and team management experience.


• Have experience of reviewing financial statements, compiling audit reports, etc


• Have knowledge and experience of audit documentation, preparing and completing audit work papers etc.
