Job summary

WNS is hiring Fare Audit professionals to join the Fare Audit team in the airline/travel domain. The role focuses on reviewing and auditing travel transactions to ensure fare accuracy, correct ticketing, proper application of airline rules, and compliance with SOPs and SLAs.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience in Fare Audit, airline travel, ticketing, or revenue accounting, with strong knowledge of sales, exchanges, and refunds and familiarity with GDS platforms like Amadeus or Sabre.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Fare Audit professional will be responsible for reviewing and auditing airline travel transactions to ensure fare accuracy, correct ticketing, proper application of airline rules, and compliance with established processes. The role requires strong knowledge of sales transactions, ticket exchanges and refunds, along with excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit airline tickets and travel transactions for fare accuracy and compliance.
• Review sales transactions and verify that the correct fare, taxes, fees and applicable charges have been applied.
• Validate ticketing transactions against applicable airline fare rules and policies.
• Audit exchanges/reissues to ensure correct fare calculations, penalties, taxes and additional collection/refund amounts.
• Review and validate refund transactions according to airline rules and applicable refund conditions.
• Identify discrepancies, errors, incorrect fare calculations and process deviations.
• Investigate fare-related discrepancies and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
• Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with defined SOPs, quality standards and SLAs.
• Maintain accurate audit records and documentation.
• Analyze recurring errors and highlight process gaps or areas requiring improvement.
• Work closely with operations, ticketing and other internal teams to resolve audit-related issues.
• Ensure high levels of accuracy, productivity and quality while meeting defined targets.
• Stay updated with changes in airline policies, fare rules and travel processes.

Key Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of airline ticketing and fare processes.
• Hands-on experience in Sales, Exchanges and Refunds.
• Good understanding of airline fare rules and ticketing conditions.
• Knowledge of GDS systems such as Amadeus, Sabre or similar platforms is preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate the root cause.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic reporting is an added advantage.
• Graduate in any discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Fare Audit, Airline Travel, Ticketing, Revenue Accounting or a related travel process.
• Candidates with strong experience in Sales + Exchanges + Refunds will be preferred.
• Prior experience working with GDS platforms is an advantage.
