Job summary

EXL is seeking a senior finance leader in India to oversee end-to-end accounting, FP&A, treasury, and strategic finance. The role partners with the CEO and leadership team to drive financial discipline, governance, and performance across business units.

The ideal candidate will leverage Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP expertise, build robust dashboards, and lead a high-performing finance team. A CA with 15–18 years experience is required, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, fixed assets).
• Ensure accurate financial statements in line with Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP.
• Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness.
• Oversee FP&A, budgeting, and long-term planning.
• Manage treasury, investments, and capital structure.
• Advise CEO on financial strategy and M&A support.
• Ensure regulatory and tax compliance; drive risk management.

Job description

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and fixed assets
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness
• Manage statutory, internal, and tax audits

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and fixed assets
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure audit readiness
• Manage statutory, internal, and tax audits

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Drive annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning
• Provide actionable insights on financial performance, variances, and key business drivers
• Develop dashboards and MIS reporting for senior management
• Support strategic decision-making through scenario analysis and modeling

3. Investment Management

• Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow planning and liquidity management
• Evaluate and manage investment opportunities, capital allocation, and returns
• Build relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors
• Optimize capital structure and funding strategies

4. Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

• Act as a key advisor to the CEO and leadership team on financial strategy
• Support M&A activities, due diligence, and integration (if applicable)
• Identify cost optimization and revenue enhancement opportunities
• Drive financial discipline across business units

5. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and corporate governance requirements
• Implement robust risk management frameworks
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and assess impact

6. Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
