Job summary

Horizon Architects in Mumbai seeks a Senior Architect to lead end-to-end projects from briefing to execution, ensuring timelines and quality. You will apply Mumbai DCPR regulations and coordinate with structural and MEP teams to develop concepts and prepare presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Lead design development, supervise juniors, and drive documentation and site coordination while maintaining design quality and contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Project Handling: Independently manage projects from client briefing to design development and execution; take ownership of timelines, deliverables, coordination and quality.
• Mumbai Planning & Regulations: Strong working knowledge of Mumbai DCPR, development regulations, planning norms and approval processes; understanding of FSI, TDR, setbacks, height, parking and development potential.
• Design & Project Presentations: Develop architectural concepts, planning strategies, massing, elevations and design proposals; prepare and present project concepts and design presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Client Coordination: Conduct client meetings, understand project requirements and priorities; coordinate design development, revisions and approvals; build strong professional relationships.
• Technical & Documentation: Develop and review detailed working and execution drawings; coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape and other consultants; ensure drawings are accurate and execution-ready.
• Site Coordination: Conduct regular site visits, coordinate with contractors and site teams; resolve design/technical issues during execution; ensure compliance with approved drawings.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor architects, junior architects and draftsmen; delegate work and monitor deliverables; maintain quality standards.
• Business & Professional Development: Support proposals, stay updated with architecture trends; participate in design workshops and professional events; contribute to growth and design quality of the practice.

SENIOR ARCHITECT

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. End-to-End Project Handling

• Independently manage projects from client briefing to design development and execution.
• Take ownership of project timelines, deliverables, coordination and quality.
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

2. Mumbai Planning & Regulations

• Strong working knowledge of Mumbai DCPR, development regulations, planning norms and approval processes.
• Practical understanding of FSI, TDR, setbacks, height, parking, permissible areas and development potential.
• Relevant local Mumbai project and site experience is essential.
• Ability to apply regulations effectively during planning and design development.

3. Design & Project Presentations

• Develop architectural concepts, planning strategies, massing, elevations and design proposals.
• Prepare and present project concepts and design presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Communicate design intent clearly and confidently.

4. Client Coordination

• Conduct client meetings and understand project requirements, expectations and priorities.
• Coordinate design development, revisions and approvals with clients.
• Build strong professional relationships and manage communication throughout the project.

5. Technical & Documentation

• Develop and review detailed working and execution drawings.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, landscape and other consultants.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and execution-ready.
• Review design details, materials and specifications.

6. Site Coordination

• Conduct regular site visits and coordinate with contractors, consultants and site teams.
• Resolve design and technical issues during execution.
• Ensure site execution follows approved drawings, specifications and design intent.

7. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor architects, junior architects and draftsmen.
• Delegate work, monitor deliverables and maintain quality standards.
• Coordinate the team to achieve project timelines and objectives.

• Support proposals, scope of work and project presentations.
