Job summary

Aptia Group India Private Ltd is seeking an experienced Pensions Administrator to manage complex queries, perform pension calculations, and support client relationships within Defined Benefit schemes. You will mentor junior colleagues, advise on legislative changes, and help improve processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.

You will liaise with clients and scheme members, review calculations, and contribute to budgeting and project delivery while staying abreast of industry developments.

Qualifications

  • Experience liaising with clients and trustees.
  • Ability to perform complex pension calculations and peer review.
  • Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit schemes and UK legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • PMI qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring progress using MI reporting for member, client and scheme events.
  • Ensure errors and complaints are handled per procedures within timescales.
  • Monitor project income and collaborate with management to deliver projects on plan and budget.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue within client groups and costs.
  • Stay updated on technical developments and legislative changes and discuss implications.

Job requirements Seeking an experienced Pensions Administrator to manage complex queries, perform and review calculations, and support client relationships. The role also involves advising on legislative changes, improving processes, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring compliance and accuracy across Defined Benefit schemes.

Are you an experienced Pensions Administrator looking for a fresh challenge? In this role you will play a key role in supporting clients and scheme members on complex queries and calculations, as well as using your expertise to peer review, coach and check calculations for more junior team members. You will use your technical knowledge to advise on procedural and legislative changes, and support client relationships through budgeting and process improvement.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Communicating with clients and scheme members on complex queries when required via letter, email and telephone.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the scheme details administered in the team and ensure activities are processed in line with the scheme rules.
  • Performing complex pensions calculations, enter pensions data and answer enquiries to the required standard using both automated and non-automated manual/system processes across a wide range of member or scheme events.
  • Perform checking activity as required to support team members, and use MI reporting to monitor progress for member, client and scheme event work.
  • Ensuring errors, omissions and complaints are handled as accordance with agreed procedures and within appropriate timescales.
  • Monitoring project income and work with your manager to ensure client projects are delivered on plan and to budget.
  • Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue within your client group, ensuring requests for additional work are identified and costs calculated and confirmed.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments, procedural and legislative changes, able to discuss and act upon the implications.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience liaising with clients and trustees.
  • Ability to perform complex pension calculations, and the ability to peer review other calculations to a high standard of accuracy Strong knowledge of member calculation processes, Defined Benefit (DB) scheme knowledge, scheme types and governing legislation issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK pensions legislation.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to analyse and improve processes.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. PMI) – desirable.
