• Review payment requisition reports and flag items for manual review.
• Ensure proper approvals and supporting information for sanction checks.
• Review urgent payment requests and related details.
• Perform checks on third-party payment requests per Controllership/Compliance guidelines.
• Share required information for payments before settlement due dates and manage offsets or Marsh funding.
• Send payment requests for authorization after all information is obtained.
• Receive and store payment confirmations and transaction references in DMS.
• Send settlement advice to trading partners and store copies in DMS.
• Identify and exclude duplicate or erroneous statements from processing with reasons.
• Resolve exclusions by coordinating with Treasury/Banks as needed.
• Reconcile statements with ledger balances and resolve discrepancies.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Account Payables team part of our risk, reinsurance, and capital business at Marsh. This role will be based in Pune - Business Bay. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Analyst - Finance & Accounting (Grade B2)

Marsh is hiring a Senior Analyst in Finance & Accounting to support payments process, reconciliations, and exception resolutions. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting, diligence, and experience managing high-volume cash transactions in an insurance or financial operations environment. Manage end-to-end cash applications for high-volume and complex accounts, ensuring accurate posting and timely resolution of exceptions. Support reconciliations, reporting, month-end activities, and compliance with SOX and audit requirements. Guide junior team members, manage escalations, and contribute to process improvements, automation, and smooth team operations.

We will count on you to:

• Review the payment requisition report and highlight entries which need Accounting Ops Manager to review manually.
• Ensure appropriate Business approvals & supporting information have been attached in case of sanction check scenario
• Review urgent payment request and corresponding details.
• Conduct additional checks for third party payment requests and take appropriate actions as per Controllership / Compliance guidelines.
• Review details and ensure appropriate approvals / information has been shared for payments being made before settlement due date or are being offset against due payable or will result in Marsh funding.
• Send payment request for authorization once all required information has been obtained and relevant checks have been completed for requests which required manual review.
• Receive payment confirmation details including transaction reference details and store report in DMS.
• Send settlement advice details to the trading partner and store copy in DMS.
• Perform checks to ensure the statement is unique (has not been processed previously) and identify entries to be excluded from the report for processing with reasons.
• Review entries excluded for processing and take appropriate actions to resolve exception (For e.g. requesting Treasury to liaise with Banking partners if required).
• Reconciliation of statement of account with ledger balance and resolve discrepancy if any by contacting the relevant parties.

What you need to have:

• Any relevant Accounting degree
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting
• Prior experience in working in similar roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to show initiative and contribute to a continuous improvement environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
• Active team player with the ability to work across geographies.
• Openness to new challenges and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
