Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, and general ledger.
• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, outstanding payments, and customer collections.
• Perform bank reconciliation, vendor reconciliation, and customer ledger reconciliation.
• Ensure timely closing of monthly and annual accounts.

2. Manufacturing Accounting & Costing

• Monitor raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory valuation and stock reconciliation.
• Calculate and analyse product-wise manufacturing costs.
• Monitor material consumption, production expenses, labour costs, and factory overheads.
• Analyse cost variances, wastage, scrap, and production losses.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, stores, and dispatch teams to ensure proper accounting of factory transactions.
• Support management in identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving profitability.

3. GST, Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely preparation and filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
• Monitor GST input tax credit (ITC), reconciliations, and compliance.
• Manage TDS calculations, payments, returns, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate for income tax returns, tax audits, statutory audits, and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Handle departmental notices, assessments, and queries in coordination with tax consultants.

4. Financial Planning & Reporting

• Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund requirements.
• Prepare budgets and compare actual expenses against budgeted figures.
• Analyse profitability, gross margins, operating expenses, and financial performance.
• Provide financial data and insights to management for decision-making.

5. Inventory & Internal Controls

• Conduct periodic stock verification and reconcile physical stock with book records.
• Ensure proper documentation for material receipts, material issues, transfers, and dispatches.
• Establish and monitor internal controls for purchases, payments, inventory, and expenses.
• Identify accounting discrepancies, stock differences, and control weaknesses.
• Maintain proper records of fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditure.

6. Vendor, Customer & Banking Management

• Manage vendor payments as per agreed credit terms and payment schedules.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Coordinate with banks for payments, fund transfers, working capital facilities, and bank documentation.
• Monitor credit limits, payment cycles, and working capital requirements.
• Maintain good coordination with suppliers, customers, banks, auditors, and consultants.

7. Team Management

• Supervise and guide the accounts team.
• Allocate work and review accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy, discipline, and timely completion of accounting activities.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve financial and accounting issues.
