Job summary

Amour Retail is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with extensive experience in retail accounting to manage day-to-day entries, reconciliations, inventory and vendor records.

You will work closely with store and operations teams to ensure accurate financial records, GST/TDS compliance, and timely monthly closings, MIS reporting, and audit readiness across multiple stores and channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in B.Com or accounting-related field.
• 35 years of relevant experience in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of retail and inventory accounting and POS reconciliation.
• Proficient in GST, TDS, invoicing and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Tally/ERP and MS Excel.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and detail-oriented skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.

Responsibilities

Job description

About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with 35 years of experience and strong knowledge of retail accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, sales and payment reconciliation, inventory accounting, vendor management, and statutory compliance, working closely with store and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Key Result Areas:

1. Accounting & Financial Records

• Manage day-to-day accounting entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform bank, customer, vendor, and ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly closing, MIS, financial reporting, and audit requirements.

2. Sales & Payment Reconciliation

• Reconcile store-wise sales from POS systems with accounting records.
• Reconcile cash, card, UPI, and other payment collections with bank statements.
• Handle sales returns, discounts, refunds, credit notes, and debit notes.
• Reconcile online/e-commerce sales and payment gateway settlements.

3. Inventory & Vendor Management

• Record purchase invoices and perform vendor ledger reconciliation.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory/stock records with accounting data.
• Coordinate with store/operations teams for stock adjustments, damages, returns, and discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including outstanding follow-ups.
• Prepare payment requests and maintain vendor payment records.

4. Statutory & Compliance

• Handle GST-related accounting, reconciliation, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with TDS calculations, deductions, and related records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in B.Com, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 35 years of relevant experience, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of retail accounting, inventory accounting, and POS reconciliation.
• Good knowledge of GST, TDS, invoicing, sales/purchase accounting, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Tally/ERP software and MS Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.

Preferred Experience

• Experience handling accounting for multiple retail stores.
• Experience with POS/ERP systems, e-commerce platforms, and payment gateway settlements.
• Knowledge of stock reconciliation and retail inventory movement.
