Pramukh Industries invites an experienced Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting, GL, GST/ TDS compliance, and month-end closure.

Key duties include receivables/payables, bank reconciliations, MIS reporting, inventory and cost accounting, and maintaining strong internal controls.

You'll collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Stores and Production to ensure accuracy, timely reporting, and adherence to policies in a fast-paced environment.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Maintain General Ledger, Cash Book, Bank Book, Sales, Purchase and Journal entries.
• Review and approve accounting entries, vouchers, invoices and supporting documents.
• Ensure proper accounting of sales, purchases, expenses, credit notes, debit notes and other transactions.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely closure of monthly accounts.

2. Sales & Distributor Accounting

• Monitor accounting related to distributors, dealers, modern trade and other sales channels.
• Maintain distributor-wise receivables, payments, credit limits and outstanding balances.
• Reconcile distributor accounts and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Sales and Distribution teams.
• Monitor sales invoices, credit notes, schemes, discounts, incentives and promotional adjustments.
• Ensure proper accounting of returns, damages, expiry, replacements and other sales-related adjustments.

3. Receivables & Payables Management

• Monitor customer and distributor outstanding balances and ensure timely collection follow-up.
• Prepare and circulate ageing reports for receivables and payables.
• Coordinate with the Sales team for collection of overdue payments.
• Monitor vendor payments and ensure payments are made as per approved terms and company policies.
• Identify long-pending or disputed balances and elevate them to management.

4. GST & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate GST-related accounting and compliance.
• Review GST input and output records and reconcile GST data with books of accounts.
• Coordinate with external consultants/auditors for GST returns, assessments and related matters.
• Ensure TDS calculations, deductions, payments and returns are completed within applicable timelines.
• Maintain proper documentation for statutory compliance, audits and assessments.

5. Bank & Reconciliation

• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor bank transactions, receipts, payments and transfers.
• Ensure timely accounting of all bank transactions.
• Coordinate with banks regarding payment issues, reconciliations and other finance-related matters.

6. Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Procurement and Sales teams for inventory accounting.
• Reconcile physical inventory with system/book balances.
• Monitor stock adjustments, damages, wastage, expiry and other inventory-related transactions.
• Assist management in monitoring product-wise and channel-wise costs and margins.
• Support proper accounting of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods and other inventory.

7. MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
• Prepare receivables ageing, payables ageing, sales, collection and expense reports.
• Provide management with regular MIS on cash flow, outstanding collections, expenses and financial performance.
• Analyse major variances and highlight financial risks or irregularities to management.
• Develop and improve accounting MIS and reporting systems as the organization expands.

8. Audit & Internal Controls

• Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors and tax consultants.
• Prepare schedules, supporting documents and information required for audits.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company accounting policies.
• Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls to minimize errors, leakages and unauthorized transactions.
• Identify gaps in accounting processes and recommend corrective measures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial accounting.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
• Experience in receivables and payables management.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Experience in MIS and management reporting.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Experience with Tally / ERP / accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with Sales, Procurement, Stores, Production and Operations teams.
• Strong communication and team-management skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in FMCG, ice cream, dairy, food & beverages, distribution, retail or manufacturing will be preferred.

Experience handling multiple distributors, high-volume sales transactions, GST reconciliation, receivables ageing and inventory accounting will be an added advantage.
