Job summary

Malhotra Book Depot in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Accounts and Finance Lead to independently manage the accounts for the press location and supervise the local team to ensure timely reporting and compliance with company accounting and control requirements.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, close monthly accounts, coordinate audits, and ensure GST/TDS compliance, driving strong financial controls across inventory and fixed assets. The role requires 8–10 years in manufacturing accounting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or postgraduate in Commerce; B.Com./M.Com. required.
  • 8–10 years of experience in independently handling accounts of a factory/manufacturing unit.
  • Good knowledge of GST, TDS and statutory compliances.
  • Experience in assisting with internal and statutory audits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations of the press/factory.
  • Supervise and guide a team of four to five accounts personnel.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of purchases, expenses, production-related transactions, debit/credit notes and other accounting entries.
  • Monitor vendor accounts, reconciliations, outstanding balances and payment documentation.
  • Maintain proper accounting and control over inventory, fixed assets, capital expenditure, scrap sales and other factory-related transactions.
  • Ensure timely monthly closing of accounts and submission of MIS and other reports to the HOD in Delhi.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
  • Review GST input tax credit, TDS deductions, vendor compliance and related reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors and provide the required records, schedules, reconciliations and explanations.
  • Assist in statutory audit, internal audit and closure of accounts in accordance with the Companies Act, 2013, applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with approved SOPs.
  • Coordinate with production, purchase, stores, HR and other departments for timely accounting and resolution of pending matters.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and safe custody of accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Report material accounting, compliance or control-related issues to the HOD on a timely basis.

Role Overview

Qualification and Experience
  • Graduate or postgraduate in Commerce; B.Com./M.Com. required. CA Inter/CMA Inter qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience, including substantial experience in independently handling accounts of a factory or manufacturing unit.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS and statutory compliances.
  • Practical experience in assisting with internal and statutory audits.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in the printing, publishing or manufacturing industry will be preferred.
