Job summary

Figures Global Advisors in Bengaluru seeks an experienced accountant to independently manage accounting assignments for Indian and US clients. Hands-on with Indian accounting using Zoho Books and US accounting with QuickBooks and Zoho Books.

You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end closings and financial reporting, with GST and TDS for India and coordination with US compliance teams as needed.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of relevant experience with Indian and US accounting.
• Hands-on proficiency in Zoho Books for Indian accounting and QuickBooks/Zoho Books for US accounting.
• Strong bookkeeping, accruals, general ledger and financial statements.
• Experience in month-end closing and financial reporting.
• GST and TDS accounting knowledge for India; coordinate with US compliance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, payments and ageing reviews.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts.

Figures Global Advisors is looking for an experienced accountant to independently manage accounting assignments for Indian and US clients.

About the role

We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in Indian accounting using Zoho Books and US accounting using QuickBooks and Zoho Books.

You will take ownership of assigned accounts, from day-to-day bookkeeping and reconciliations to month-end closing and financial reporting. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, clear client communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts for Indian and US clients, including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, and ageing reviews.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, customer and vendor balances, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and follow up on outstanding items.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Handle GST and TDS accounting and reconciliations for Indian clients, and coordinate with compliance teams on relevant workings.
• Maintain US accounts and prepare reconciled records and schedules for clients, CPAs, and tax advisors.
• Account for foreign currency transactions and intercompany balances, where applicable.
• Coordinate directly with clients to obtain documents, resolve queries, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation and identify improvements to accounting processes.

Required skills and experience

• 4-5 years of relevant experience, with practical exposure to both Indian and US accounting.
• Hands-on proficiency in Zoho Books for Indian accounting and QuickBooks and Zoho Books for US accounting.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accrual accounting, general ledger management, and financial statements.
• Experience independently handling reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of GST and TDS accounting and relevant US accounting principles.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications and preferred background

• A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience in an accounting or outsourced finance firm serving Indian and US clients is preferred.
• Candidates who have directly handled accounting for businesses with both Indian and US operations are also welcome.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts and coordinating with overseas clients will be an advantage.
