Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented US Accountant to join our international accounting team in Mumbai. This role involves handling end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance for US-based clients. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of US GAAP, QuickBooks, and international accounting practices, along with prior experience in working with US clients in a BPO/KPO/outsourcing setup.

Our client is a leading Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) firm, specializing in delivering end-to-end accounting, tax, compliance, and financial management solutions to global clients, with a strong focus on the US market. With a dedicated team of finance professionals, the company manages accounting operations across industries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for multiple US clients.
- Record journal entries, general ledger adjustments, and ensure timely posting of transactions.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as per US GAAP.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and inter-company balances.
- Support preparation of management reports and financial dashboards for clients.
Taxation & Compliance
- Assist with US tax filings, sales tax returns, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with US accounting standards and client-specific requirements.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors when required.
Client Communication & Support
- Work closely with US-based clients to understand their accounting needs.
- Provide timely updates, reports, and financial insights to clients.
- Handle queries and resolve issues related to accounting, reporting, or compliance.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Use QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or other accounting platforms for client management.
- Contribute to process improvements and standardization of accounting practices.
- Support automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Role Requirements
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CPA (US) / ACCA or equivalent.
- 2–4 years in US Accounting / Outsourcing / KPO industry.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, US tax compliance, and payroll processing.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to interact with US clients.
- Flexibility to work night shifts aligned with US business hours.
