ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant owns Morcom's day-to‑day accounting and statutory compliance - keeping the books accurate, current and audit-ready from purchase to payment and sales to receipt. The role is the finance backbone of the factory: every voucher booked correctly, every GST and TDS return filed on time, every bank, vendor and customer account reconciled, and clean monthly MIS in management's hands. Working closely with Purchase, Stores, Sales and Production, the Senior Accountant makes sure no bill is paid without a match, no rupee goes unaccounted, and no statutory date is ever missed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to‑Day Accounting & Book‑keeping Voucher & ledger entries: Book all purchase, sales, expense, journal, cash and bank entries accurately in Tally / ERP (Odoo), keeping every ledger current. Books upkeep: Maintain the cash book, bank book, general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; ensure every transaction is supported and correctly classified. Month‑end close: Pass provision, prepaid, depreciation and accrual entries and help close the books on time each month.
- GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance GST: Prepare and file GSTR‑1 and GSTR‑3B, reconcile GSTR‑2B / input credit, handle e‑invoice and e‑way bill, and resolve mismatches with vendors. TDS / TCS: Deduct correctly, deposit by the due dates, file quarterly returns (26Q / 24Q) and issue Form 16 / 16A. Other statutory: Support PF, ESIC and income‑tax / advance‑tax workings; keep every challan and filing on time and penalty‑free (note: Haryana levies no professional tax).
- Accounts Payable & Vendor Accounting Bill booking & 3‑way match: Verify vendor invoices against the PO and GRN (with Purchase / Stores) before booking; flag any mismatch. Payments: Process vendor payments on agreed terms via NEFT / RTGS / cheque; manage advances and debit / credit notes. Vendor reconciliation: Reconcile vendor ledgers periodically and resolve differences.
- Accounts Receivable & Collections Invoicing & AR: Verify / raise sales invoices with correct GST and HSN and maintain the debtors ledger. Collections: Track receivables, follow up with Sales on overdue accounts and control credit exposure. Customer reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts and clear disputes.
- Bank, Cash & Treasury Bank reconciliation: Reconcile all bank accounts regularly and clear open items. Cash & petty cash: Control cash and petty cash with proper vouchers and limits. Banking coordination: Handle CC / OD and coordinate LC / BG and import remittances with the bank where applicable.
- Costing, Inventory & Production Accounting (coordination) Stock & valuation: Coordinate with Stores / Production on inventory valuation, WIP and finished goods and periodic stock reconciliation. Costing support: Support BOM / product costing, landed‑cost working and consumption / variance analysis.
- MIS, Finalisation & Audit MIS: Prepare monthly MIS - P&L, expense analysis, debtors / creditors ageing, cash‑flow and bank position - for management. Finalisation: Prepare the trial balance and schedules and support finalisation of the annual accounts. Audit: Support statutory, internal, GST and tax audits with clean, audit‑ready records and schedules.
- Payroll & Controls (support) Payroll accounting: Support salary processing, reimbursements and statutory deductions with HR. Controls & ERP discipline: Enforce voucher, approval and documentation discipline; run the accounting cycle cleanly through ERP and keep records audit‑ready.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Accounting command: Strong, hands‑on double‑entry accounting up to finalisation in a manufacturing / SME setup. Taxation: Confident, current knowledge of GST (returns, 2B reconciliation, e‑invoice, e‑way) and TDS / TCS. Systems: Tally (ERP 9 / Prime) and / or a manufacturing ERP (Odoo preferred; SAP / others acceptable); advanced MS Excel (V‑Lookup, Pivot Tables).
