Job summary

Qualys is redefining how organizations secure their IT environments through a unified SaaS platform. We’re seeking a Strategic Security Architect to work with enterprise customers on vulnerability management, threat detection & response, compliance, and cloud/app security.

You will lead technical workshops, translate requirements into scalable architectures, and drive PoVs to demonstrate platform capabilities, shaping security solutions aligned with business goals.

• Strong experience in customer-facing roles (pre-sales, post-sales, or advisory).
• Proven ability to design and articulate complex security architectures.
• Experience driving technical wins and handling high-stakes customer scenarios.
• Excellent communication skills—able to engage both engineers and executives.
• High ownership, curiosity, and ability to operate in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, TAMs, and customer stakeholders to drive technical wins and expansion opportunities.
• Architect end-to-end security solutions aligned to customer environments and business goals.
• Lead high-impact PoV engagements to demonstrate platform capabilities.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable architectures and deployment strategies.
• Identify gaps between current and desired security posture, and position solutions to bridge them.
• Deliver executive-level workshops, architecture sessions, and technical briefings.
• Create reusable assets such as reference architectures, onboarding playbooks, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap based on field insights.
• Stay ahead of evolving threats, technologies, and market trends.

About the Role

What You’ll Do

• Act as a strategic technical advisor to enterprise customers across vulnerability management, threat detection & response, compliance, and cloud/app security

Infrastructure & Endpoint Security

• Vulnerability management, patching, asset discovery
• Policy compliance, configuration management
• Endpoint detection & response (EDR)

Cloud Security

• AWS / Azure / GCP architecture
• Cloud posture management, misconfigurations, and risk mitigation
• Identity, workload, and container security

Application Security

• SAST, DAST, API security
• Container security and DevSecOps practices
• Familiarity with OWASP and MITRE frameworks

Additional Experience

• Hands-on experience with Qualys or similar platforms
• Understanding of industry standards (ISO, NIST, CIS, etc.)
• Ability to map security controls to compliance frameworks
• Experience influencing product direction through customer feedback
