Job summary

Qualys, Inc. in Pune, India is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a fast-moving team building a scalable SaaS-based security platform.

You will prototype, design, develop, and support microservice-based applications across private and public clouds. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems, ensuring high-performance, scalable software, and carry out unit and integration tests while documenting code and designs.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
• 8+ years of professional Java experience developing applications with Spring Boot and microservices.
• Good understanding of relational databases and/or NoSQL DB (Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with indexing technology like Elasticsearch and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached.
• Proficient in data structures and algorithms and scalable software design.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys technology platform.
• Research and develop cloud native solutions across available public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
• Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance micro service-based applications.
• Produce high-quality software with scalable architecture and design principles.
• Write unit/integration tests for your code.
• Document your code, design and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys’ technology platform.

Requisite Qualifications

• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
• Excellent programming and designing skills in Java with minimum 8+ years of professional experience developing applications using Spring Boot / micro-services.
• Good understanding of relational databases and/or NoSQL DB, preferably Cassandra, Elasticsearch
• Professional experience working on indexing technology like Elastic Search and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms, application design.
• Professional experience developing software using micro services oriented architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on knowledge of public cloud providers like AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI
• Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science
• Professional experience with Jenkins, and Kubernetes
• Experience with stream processing technologies like Apache Kafka
