Job summary

Cipla in Goa seeks an experienced engineer to oversee Maintenance & Operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production support. You will supervise staff, coordinate projects, and manage energy use while working with SAP/ARIBA for inventory and compliance.

The role requires B.E. Electrical, pharma exposure preferred, and familiarity with CGMP/GDP/GEP and CAPA processes. Join a team focused on reliability and continuous improvement within a pharmaceutical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical required or preferred.
• Pharma experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of CGMP, GDP, GEP and GAMP standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and retention of staff, including training, motivation, and discipline.
• Supervision of personnel and identification of staff training needs.
• Conducting departmental trainings and ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment, instruments, HVAC, BMS, and electrical systems.
• Calibration activities through instrument calibration management systems.
• Environmental monitoring and validation of engineering equipment.
• Inspection of materials received at engineering stores.
• Monitoring temperature, humidity, and pressure in production areas.
• Operation of SAP, ARIBA, and other applications for inventory, job cards, and compliance tracking.
• Handling change requests, deviations, CAPA and compliance documentation.
• Supporting risk assessments and PLC validations.
• Planning, design, and execution of unit projects and modifications.
• Preparation/review of design concepts, specifications, tenders.
• Coordination with internal and external agencies for installation and commissioning.
• Development of plant layouts and facility requirements.
• Energy conservation tracking and review of Energy Management System SOPs.
• Conducting energy/electrical audits and benchmarking exercises.
• Budget tracking and cost control action plans.
• Review and approval of electricity bills.
• Issuance of safety work permits and contractor scheduling.
• Handling CCTV, fire alarm, PA, and gas detection systems.
• Ensuring compliance with CGMP, GDP, GEP, GAMP standards.
• Supporting quality systems through continual improvement and SOP updates.
• Interaction with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, QA, vendors, government agencies).
• Coordination for vendor payments and procurement follow-ups.
• Supporting liaison for government approvals.
