Job summary

Dalmia Cement is seeking a Maintenance Lead for highly mechanized opencast limestone mining operations. You will plan and supervise maintenance of HEMM and mining equipment, ensure availability, and drive cost-effective upkeep in compliance with DGMS safety rules.

You will coordinate with OEMs and contractors, manage preventive/breakdown maintenance, monitor KPIs, and maintain critical spares and records. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in highly mechanized open cast mining operations, especially in limestone or similar mineral sectors.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, safety regulations applicable to mines and maintenance best practices.
• Experience in managing teams, coordinating with external authorities, and optimizing mining resources.
• Strong exposure in strengthening & implementation of the safety practices.
• Experience in Highly opencast mechanized Limestone Mines for more than Four years.
• Knowledge of DGMS regulations, mine machinery safety requirements and statutory inspection procedures.
• Experience of maintenance of HEMM, LMV and statutory documentations.

Responsibilities

• Planning and supervision of maintenance of HEMM and mining equipment such as excavators, dumpers, wheel loaders, dozers, motor graders, compressors, rock breakers.
• Ensure equipment availability and utilization by effective preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Monitor equipment FMC, fuel consumption, tyre performance and maintenance cost.
• Prepare and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing.
• Analyze equipment breakdowns and implement root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors and service agencies for major repairs and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure availability of critical spares, lubricants and consumables.
• Monitor equipment performance through MIS, daily/monthly reports and KPI derivation.
• Maintain records related to equipment maintenance, breakdowns, operating hours, fuel consumption and repair costs.
• Ensure compliance with DGMS safety requirements and statutory provisions applicable to mine machinery.
• Coordinate with Mines Operation, Electrical, Safety and other departments for smooth mine operations.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through equipment optimization, improved utilization and reduction in maintenance/fuel costs.
