Iteach Schools in Pune is seeking passionate educators to teach and mentor students in a collaborative environment. Teachers will engage with students, create innovative lesson plans, and lead projects that enrich student learning experiences.

Overview

The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of getting admitted to a college or building a career are much lower than their high‑income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born to declare war on this status quo and create a level playing field for all children. We do this in Pune and Navi Mumbai by co‑creating contextual school models with Municipal Corporations.

We run 12 free and high‑impact secondary schools and a college‑to‑career program for the most disadvantaged students. In 2024, with a staff of 300 members across 12 schools, we will serve 4,500 students and 3,000 alumni—giving students a fighting chance at college, career, and citizenship. We aim to grow to 30 schools and 10,000 students over the next five years.

Key Responsibilities

A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are:

Teaching your subject (60% time)

• Use existing resources and design innovative annual plans, unit plans, and lesson plans
• Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to a class (about 30 students in each class)
• Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students
• Build a positive and strong school culture with a focus on learning and joy
• Collaborate with the parents of the students through regular meetings to create a positive learning environment

Mentoring students (20% time)

• Mentor nearly 15–20 students throughout the year
• Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel—share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem
• Mentor students to identify a best‑fit career after Grade X

Leading projects in school (20% time)

• Work with the School Principal and Vice Principal to lead multiple projects essential to student learning (based on your talents), such as annual day, sports day, hobby clubs, etc.
• Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachers

Education & Experience

• Required: Bachelor’s degree with strong academic and holistic performance
• Preferred: B.Ed. degree
• Preferred: Teaching experience in a secondary grade for 1–2 years

Compensation and Benefits

We take pride in offering competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the candidate’s education and work experience. The salary range for this position is 4.2 – 6 LPA CTC. Benefits include PF, gratuity, medical insurance (up to 3 lakh per annum), paid leaves, annual increments, and promotion opportunities.
