Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SE/SSE - Power BI Developer with deep technical expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end modern BI solutions. You will transform complex healthcare clinical, operational, and financial datasets into interactive dashboards that enable strategic, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain highly interactive enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
• Data Modeling: Architect and build optimized data models using Power BI Desktop, implementing star and snowflake schemas.
• Calculations & Logic: Write and maintain advanced, high-performance DAX measures and calculations.
• Data Transformation: Connect, transform, and manipulate diverse datasets using Power Query and M Language.
• Data Integration: Blend and integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL Server, Azure cloud systems, SharePoint, Excel, and custom web APIs.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize report rendering times through query tuning, data modeling best practices, and implementing incremental refresh strategies.
• Power BI Administration: Deploy, configure, and manage solutions in the Power BI Service, including Workspaces, Gateways, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner directly with healthcare business leaders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-impact BI solutions.
• Governance & Standards: Implement strict data governance, quality assurance frameworks, and thorough documentation for all reporting assets.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose performance bottlenecks in existing reports and resolve complex data discrepancies.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Experience Baseline: 3-8 years of hands-on experience in production-grade Power BI development.
• Power BI Ecosystem: Mastery of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI administration basics.
• Advanced Scripting: Advanced proficiency in writing complex DAX functions and Power Query / M scripts.
• Database Programming: Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and window functions.
• Architecture: Excellent understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing concepts, and handling massive datasets.
• Security: Hands-on experience implementing complex Row Level Security (RLS) models.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical data architecture into business-friendly insights.

Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred)

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HIPAA compliance, HL7, or FHIR concepts).
• Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
• Knowledge of advanced data visualization extensions or paginated reporting tools (SSRS).
