slice is hiring an experienced Backend developer in Bengaluru to join our technology team. You will work with Design, Product, Data Science, and Analytics to build microservices focused on millennials’ financial needs in India.

You will own the development from ideation to deployment, with emphasis on performance, security, and maintainability, collaborating across disciplines to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in server-side development.
• 1.5–2 years as an SDE 3.
• Strong programming skills.
• Hands-on API development with Express, Loopback, or Hapi.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Unit and API testing.
• Cloud concepts; experience with AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Containerized deployment experience.
• Knowledge of logging/monitoring (Prometheus/Kibana).
• BE/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/M.S. from a reputed university.
• Curiosity for cutting-edge tech.
• End-to-end ownership mindset.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend developer to join our technology team. As a Backend developer, you'll work closely with our Design, Product, Data Science and Analytics team to develop microservices which focus on the financial needs of millennials in India. If you have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing applications or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you.

What you will do

• Design and develop microservices that can work in a large-scale multi-tenant environment.
• Explore design implications and work towards an appropriate balance between functionality, performance, and maintainability.
• Work with a cross-disciplined team of Design, Product, Data Science, and Analytics teams.
• Deploy and maintain the application in a secure AWS environment.
• Take ownership from the ideation phase to deployment and maintenance.
• Actively participate in the hiring process to bring world-class programmers to the team.

What You will need

• 7+ years of experience in server-side development.
• At least 1.5 to 2 years of experience as an SDE 3
• Strong programming skills.
• Hands-on experience in API development and frameworks such as Express, Loopback, Hapi.
• Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in test-driven development (Unit test and API test).
• Understanding of basic cloud computing concepts and experience in using any of the major cloud service providers(AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Ability to build and deploy the application in a containerized environment.
• Understanding of application logging and monitoring systems like Prometheus or Kibana.
• B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/M.S. from a reputed university with a good academic record.
• Curiosity to explore cutting-edge technologies and bake them into the products.
• Zeal and drive to take end-to-end ownership.
