Job summary

Simplify Alpha in Pune is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead agile delivery across 2-3 cross-functional squads for our healthcare SaaS platform. You will own ceremonies, protect sprint commitments, and drive real-time delivery visibility using Azure DevOps and Jira.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in software delivery, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated Scrum Master role.

• Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps - board configuration, sprint management, pipeline visibility, and reporting.
• Working proficiency with Jira and Confluence for backlog management, sprint tracking, and documentation.
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal. Comfortable presenting sprint health to senior leadership.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles; SAFe awareness is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies across 2-3 squads.
• Manage sprint cadence, capacity planning, and velocity tracking.

Job description

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our Delivery & Program Management team in Pune. You will own Agile ceremonies and sprint execution across 2-3 cross-functional squads delivering product features and platform releases on our healthcare SaaS platform. Working closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and QA, you will protect sprint commitments, resolve blockers quickly, maintain real-time delivery visibility across squads in Azure DevOps and Jira, and communicate program health clearly to stakeholders at every level. This role suits a practitioner who has moved beyond just running ceremonies - someone who actively manages multi-squad dynamics, communicates with confidence across technical and business audiences, and pushes back on anti-patterns with constructive intent.

KeyResponsibilities:

Agile Facilitation & Multi-Squad Management

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement -consistently across 2-3 squads.
• Manage sprint cadence, capacity planning, and velocity tracking across all squads; surface trends and anomalies proactively.
• Coordinate cross-squad dependencies, shared resourceconflicts, and inter-team blockers - resolve at the SM level before escalatingto the TPM.
• Run retrospectives that generate genuine improvementactions; track closure of action items sprint over sprint.
• Support PI Planning participation for all squads; helpidentify sprint objectives, dependencies, and team-level risks.
• Own the impediment log across all squads; elevateblocks promptly with context and recommended resolution paths.
• Partner with Product Owners to maintain groomed, readybacklogs - stories enter sprint with clear acceptance criteria and no openquestions.
• Raise mid-sprint scope changes and their deliveryimpact to stakeholders without delay.
• Support release readiness activities includingregression tracking, UAT coordination, and go-live checkpoint adherence.
• Maintain accurate, real-time sprint boards in both Azure DevOps and Jira; ensure stories, tasks, and bugs are correctly logged, linked, and updated throughout the sprint.
• Configure and manage Azure DevOps boards, work item types, sprint iterations, and queries to reflect multi-squad delivery structure.
• Generate sprint health reports, burn-down charts, and velocity dashboards from Azure DevOps and Jira for leadership and program reviews.
• Use Azure DevOps pipeline visibility to stay informed on build, test, and deployment status; flag release-impacting issues early.
• Support integration of Jira and Azure DevOps workflows where squads operate across both platforms.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide clear, concise sprint health updates to the TPM and Delivery Lead on a defined cadence - written summaries and verbal walkthroughs as required.
• Communicate sprint outcomes, blockers, and risks to Product Owners, Business Analysts, and senior stakeholders in non-technical, business-friendly language.
• Facilitate alignment conversations between squads and stakeholders when priorities conflict or delivery timelines are at risk.
• Prepare and present sprint review outputs in a formatsuited to the audience - executive summary for leadership, detailed breakdownfor engineering.
• Participate in program-level governance check-ins;represent multi-squad delivery health accurately and proactively.
• Help squads understand and consistently apply their Definition of Done and Definition of Ready.
• Identify Agile anti-patterns across squads and raise them constructively in retrospectives or 1:1 conversations.
• Encourage a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
• Support onboarding of new squad members to team norms, tools, and working agreements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

• 5-7 years of overall experience in software delivery, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated Scrum Master role.
• Proven experience managing 2-3 concurrent Agile squads- not just a single team.
• Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps - board configuration, sprint management, pipeline visibility, and reporting. This is a hard requirement.
• Working proficiency with Jira and Confluence for backlog management, sprint tracking, and documentation.
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal. Must be comfortable presenting sprint health to senior leadership and translating technical status for business stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles; awareness of SAFe is a strong plus.
• Experience working in enterprise SaaS environments with Engineering, QA, Product Management, and BA stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset; raises issues earlywith context, not just flags.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare IT, health insurance, benefits administration, or similarly regulated SaaS.
• Exposure to SAFe ART structure or PI Planning events.
• Experience supporting a squad through a production go-live or enterprise client implementation cycle.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipeline and release management concepts (not just boards).

Certifications:

• At least one of the following is required:
• PSM II - Professional Scrum Master Level II
• PMI-ACP - Agile Certified Practitioner
