Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a seasoned SCM Head to lead end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, vendor development, planning, inventory and logistics. The role demands deep experience in manufacturing SCM, strategic sourcing and cost optimization within multi-site environments.

You will drive S&OP, working capital optimization and digital SCM initiatives, while building high‑performing teams and ensuring policy compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/production/industrial engineering; MBA/PGDM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies to ensure uninterrupted production and optimize procurement costs.
  • Lead procurement, planning, stores and logistics to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drive supplier development programs and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate annual rate contracts and long-term sourcing arrangements.
  • Ensure material availability with optimal inventory levels and drive S&OP processes.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for SCM.

Job description

Job Role: SCM Head
Function:
  • Responsible for leading the end-to-end Supply Chain Management function including Strategic Procurement, Vendor Development, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Stores, Logistics, andSupply Chain Optimization. Ensures uninterrupted materialavailability, cost competitiveness, supplier performance, inventoryoptimization, and operational excellence aligned with organizational business objectives.
Education Qualification
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering. Preferred: MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management / Operations Management
Experience:
  • 15–20 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Vendor Development, Planning, Inventory Control, and Logistics within Manufacturing Industry.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership role handling SCMfunction.
Other Requirement
  • Knowledge of SAP MM Module (subcontracting, POs, MRP)
  • Expertise in Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management
  • Experience in Vendor Development and Supplier Performance Management
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Planning and Inventory Optimization
  • Exposure to Multi-site Procurement and Supply Chain Operations
  • Experience in Cost Reduction, Value Engineering and Localization Initiatives
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability
  • Experience in Greenfield Projects, Capital Procurement and

Roles & Responsibilities
  • To develop and execute supply chain strategies that ensure uninterrupted production, optimize inventory and procurement costs, improve supplier performance, strengthen supply chain resilience, and contribute to business growth and profitability.
  • Lead & Develop and implement Supply Chain strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead Procurement, Planning, Stores and Logistics functions to ensure operational excellence.
  • Establish sourcing strategies for raw materials, bought-outcomponents, consumables and subcontracting services.
  • Drive supplier development programs and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Negotiate annual rate contracts, commercial agreements and long‑term sourcing arrangements.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demandforecasting processes.
  • Drive working capital optimization through inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Develop alternate sources and localization plans for critical commodities.
  • Monitor procurement and supply chain KPIs including:
  • Supplier OTD
  • Inventory Turns
  • Cost Savings
  • Material Availability
  • Forecast Accuracy
  • Supplier Quality Performance
  • Manage supply chain risks and business continuity plans.
  • Lead supplier audits, compliance reviews and performance assessments.

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sales teams for effective supply chain execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Build and develop high-performance SCM teams through coaching and capability development.
  • Lead digitalization and process improvement initiatives within SCM.
  • Support capital procurement, expansion projects and new product development activities.
  • Prepare SCM budgets, forecasts and management reports.
  • Take up additional responsibilities assigned by Management.
