Job summary

Kenvue is seeking a Scientist - R&D Materials to lead technical assessments of materials used across internal and external sites. You will collaborate with global teams to process spec requests, ensure adherence to pharmacopeial standards, and maintain rigorous documentation and change controls.

The role demands proactive communication, adherence to procedures, and the ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced pharmaceutical R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assessment of raw materials and products to ensure alignment with compendia, standards, registrations, and procedures.
• Coordinate with Global sites and Specification team to gather information for processing the spec request.
• Ensure compliance with upcoming Pharmacopeia monographs and identify affected changes.
• Communicate with global sites, project teams, and outsourced technical writers via meetings and email.
• Follow processes to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy while improving timeliness of requests.
• Demonstrate strategic and operational skills to prioritize and execute projects based on business and compliance needs.
• Develop expertise in SOPs and provide feedback to owners to reflect business practices.
• Demonstrate engagement and urgency to meet project targets.
• Be flexible to lead with implementation changes as aligned with business needs.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams and discuss with partners and off-shore writers.
• Approve specifications and change controls and drive to completion.
• Write or coordinate specifications and change controls and ensure timely, accurate documentation.
• Review relevant documents/protocols/reports (e.g., MAR).

What You Will Do

Roles And Responsibilities

• To provide technical assessment of Raw materials/Products used at Internal and External Manufacturing sites to ensure alignment with current compendia, industry standards, product registrations, and internal procedures.
• To liaison between Global sites and Specification team by collaborating with business partners and stakeholders (Internal/External Manufacturing sites, Regulatory, Source Quality, Business Quality, Product team) to gather necessary information to process the spec request.
• To ensure compliance with upcoming versions of Pharmacopeia monographs and identifying affected changes to the impacted sites to ensure compliance, prior to its effective date.
• To have effective communication skills, for consistent, frequent collaborations with global sites, project team, and outsourced technical writers, via virtual meetings and mail correspondences.
• To follow team’s existing processes to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy, while finding opportunities and recommending solutions to improve timeliness of the Global Specification request.
• To have strategic and operations skills to prioritize and execute project based on business and compliance needs. Partnership and sense of urgency are required to meet the target dates of both global and regional initiatives.
• To become an expert in Standard Operating Procedure as well as provide feedback to necessary standard operating procedure owners to ensure procedure reflect business practices.
• Demonstrate clear engagement for action on priorities and get the projects targets demonstrating a great sense of urgency.
• Flexibility to lead with implementation changes according to new alignments or business need.
• Often participate of cross-functional project teams and communicative skills to discuss with different areas (business partners and off-shore technical writers)
• Approve specifications and change controls and drive to completion.
• Write and/or coordinate specifications and/or change control and guarantee written on time and right the first time.
• To review the relevant documents / protocols / reports (including but not limited to Material Analytical Report - MAR)
