Job summary

Kenvue is seeking a Scientist Microbiologist to deliver microbiological services across Global R&D sites in Asia Pacific, India, Maharashtra. This onsite role supports products in Self Care, Skin Health, and Essential Health, contributing to method transfers, stability testing, and documentation under supervision.

The position requires 4–8 years in R&D Microbiology or QC with GMP exposure, MSc in Microbiology, and strong documentation skills.

• MSc in Microbiology is required.
• MS Office advanced skills.
• 4–8 years in R&D Microbiology development, QC or related roles with GMP exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver microbiological testing and related documentation with a compliance focus.
• Support equipment management, calibration, and instrument owner responsibilities.
• Prepare and contribute to technical documents: stability reports, method transfers and SOPs.
• Engage with regional/global teams on assigned deliverables.

Manager, R&D Microbiology

What You Will Do

The objective of this position is to deliver Microbiological services to various Kenvue Global R&D sites for multiple product categories under various franchises such as Self Care (OTC drugs), Skin Health and Essential Health (Baby care, Oral Care, etc.) etc.

The Scientist position will be a part of the team that is responsible for Microbiological deliverables of new product development projects, support changes to commercial products and specific research-based activities assigned as a part of Global operations. The key role is to deliver the Microbiology testing and related documentation activities with a compliance focus under the supervision of the team leader.

Job Responsibilities

MICROBIOLOGICAL DETERMINATIONS AND TECHNICAL ASSESSMENTS

• Ensure qualification on a wide range of microbiological technologies and instrumentation for testing capabilities.
• Execute the assigned stability testing for shelf-life assessment of stability studies.
• Responsible for method suitability and subsequent method leveraging technical documentation under the guidance of the team leader.
• Participate in method transfer process regarding testing activities.
• Work on specific research projects, if required.

SUPPORT TO EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

• Responsible for assigned qualification and calibration activities for lab instrumentation and technology.
• Deliver the instrument owner role for basic lab equipment and technology.

TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION

Partner with key responsible for providing data in technical documents e.g. stability reports, method transfer, method suitability protocol and reports, etc

LAB PROCESS/QUALITY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT

• Support process owners or subject matter experts for assigned responsibilities, critical laboratory processes and quality systems.
• Provide oversight for basic lab processes and elevate wherever required.

ENGAGEMENT ON REGIONAL/GLOBAL INITIATIVES

• Participate and collaborate with regional and Global teams for assigned deliverables when nominated on such forums.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Sound technical expertise related to microbiology, microbiological techniques, stability study assessment
• Diligent execution of microbiological projects with a right first-time approach.
• Adequate knowledge of current GMP, quality systems, site specific SOPs, regional/Global technical requirements
• Technical skills related to instrumentation principles and working, basic troubleshooting, good documentation practices, data integrity aspects, etc.
• Ability to work with digital tools and software applications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

• Education: MSc in Microbiology
• Other Skills: MS office advanced
• Work experience: Minimum 4 years to 8 years in R&D Microbiology development, Quality Control or related functions in healthcare/pharma/FMCG sector with exposure to GMP and Quality environment preferred
