Job description

• Candidates should have a Post-Graduation/Graduation degree in Psychology /Clinical Psychology. Min 3+ Years of experience as a School Counsellor.
• In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of curriculum areas, research, and educational trends in Education. State certification or licensure as a school counsellor.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with students.
• Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health issues, and academic counselling.

Key Responsibilities:

Individual Counselling:

• Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to students facing academic, personal, social, or emotional challenges.
• Help students develop coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence.

Group Counselling:

• Conduct group counselling sessions to address common issues such as peer relationships, bullying, study skills, and career exploration.
• Create a safe and supportive space for students to share and learn from their peers.

Academic Advising:

• Assist students in setting academic goals, selecting appropriate courses, and developing study skills.
• Monitor academic progress and provide intervention when necessary.

Consultation:

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to address students' specific needs.
• Provide recommendations and strategies for classroom interventions and support plans.

School-wide Programs:

• Develop and implement programs that promote a positive school culture, such as anti-bullying initiatives, character education, and mental health awareness campaigns.
• Conduct workshops and presentations for students and staff on relevant topics.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain confidential and accurate records of counselling sessions and interventions.
• Prepare reports on student progress and outcomes as needed.

Professional Development:

• Stay current with best practices in school counselling through ongoing training and professional development.
• Adhere to the ethical standards set forth by professional counselling organisations.
