Job description

TheSchool Counselor provides comprehensive support to students across all grade levels in alignment with the CBSE philosophy. They work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to foster a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes students' well‑being, personal growth, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address students' personal, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement social‑emotional learning (SEL) programs and well‑being initiatives.
  • Support students in managing stress, anxiety, and mental health concerns.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment in line with IB Learner Profile attributes.
2. Academic & Career Guidance
  • Assist students in setting academic and personal goals.
  • Support students in time management, study skills, and learning strategies.
  • Guide students in the university and career exploration process, including college applications, scholarships, and career pathways.
  • Provide counseling on subject selection based on students' interests and future aspirations.
3. Collaboration with Stakeholders
  • Work closely with teachers to identify and support students with learning difficulties, behavioral issues, and emotional concerns.
  • Communicate with parents regarding students' progress, challenges, and strategies for support.
  • Collaborate with external mental health professionals when specialized support is needed.
  • Conduct workshops and sessions for parents, students, and teachers on mental health, well‑being, and life skills.
4. Child Protection & Safeguarding
  • Ensure adherence to child protection policies and report any safeguarding concerns.
  • Promote awareness of student safety and well‑being through workshops and training.
5. Program Development & Implementation
  • Design and implement counseling programs aligned with CBSE philosophy and best practices.
  • Maintain counseling records, track student progress, and assess the effectiveness of counseling interventions.
  • Stay updated on best practices in school counseling and mental health support.
