Tata Consultancy Services in Pune / Coimbatore is seeking an SAP MM Master Data Specialist to manage material master data end-to-end. You will liaise between customer teams and delivery squads to ensure data integrity across SAP MM modules and support data cleansing, migration, and validation efforts.

The role requires solid experience in oil & gas or process industries, hands-on SAP S/4HANA MM (SAP GUI / Fiori), and strong understanding of material master structures and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in oil & gas or process industries with materials management.
• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA MM using SAP GUI and Fiori.
• Knowledge of material master views, units, valuation, purchasing, storage data.

Responsibilities

• Act as the focal point between customer, site, and remote delivery teams for SAP MM master data services.
• Create, extend, change, validate, block and maintain material master records across organizational levels.
• Review material data requests for completeness, classification, and approvals.
• Support SAP MM data extraction, cleansing, mass upload, reconciliation, and testing.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations.
• Monitor turnaround, data quality, backlog KPIs, and mentor users on requirements.

SAP MM Master Data Specialist

Responsibilities:

1. 1 Act as the focal point between the customer, site teams and remote delivery teams for SAP MM master data services.
2. 2 Create, extend, change, validate, block and maintain material master records across required organizational levels and views.
3. 3 Review material data requests for completeness, technical descriptions, classification, units of measure, manufacturer details, duplicate risk and approvals.
4. 4 Support SAP MM data extraction, cleansing, mass upload, reconciliation, reporting and user acceptance testing.
5. 5 Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse, Finance and Operations teams to resolve material data issues.
6. 6 Monitor request turnaround, data quality and backlog KPIs; provide concise status reports and mentor users on material master change requirements.

Must Have Skills:

• Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management or relevant technical qualification
• 5-10 years of experience in Oil & Gas, process industry or industrial materials management
• Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA MM using SAP GUI and Fiori
• Strong knowledge of material master views, material types, units of measure, valuation, purchasing, plant and storage-location data
• Experience creating, extending, changing, blocking and validating material master records
• Ability to interpret equipment details, data sheets, specifications, manufacturer information and Bills of Material
• Working knowledge of material classification, duplicate prevention, naming standards, approval workflows and audit controls

Good to have Skills:

• Maintenance spares, inventory, procurement or warehouse experience
• SAP data migration, mass upload or material cleansing exposure
• Experience working with offshore and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of DataM8, Sphera or Power BI
