Job summary

Xebia is seeking an experienced SAP ISU DM Senior Consultant/Lead to drive end-to-end Device Management implementations for our Utilities practice. You will lead design, configuration, and deployment of DM processes, including device installation, MR handling, and integration with Billing and MIMO.

The role also involves stakeholder engagement, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration with FICA, EDM/Billing teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years SAP experience with at least 6-7 years in SAP ISU DM.
• 2-3 full lifecycle implementations (design to go-live) in SAP ISU DM.
• Strong hands-on expertise in MR processes, device workflows, and integration with DM-Billing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and implementation of SAP ISU Device Management DM processes.
• Configure technical master data: Connection Objects, Premises, Installations, Devices, Device Categories.
• Handle MR order creation, MR results upload/download, plausibility checks, MR unit configuration.
• Manage DM integration with Billing, Invoicing and MIMO processes.
• Guide AMI/Smart Metering integration (IDEX, EDM/MDUS) where applicable.
• Lead workshops, prepare FS and Business Blueprint documents.
• Coordinate with ABAP/technical teams for enhancements and RFCs.
• Drive testing, UAT, cutover and data migration for DM objects.
• Provide production support and root cause analysis for DM incidents.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP ISU DM (Device Management) professional to join our Utilities practice as a Senior Consultant / Lead. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end implementation and support experience in SAP IS-Utilities with a specialization in Device Management, and should be capable of leading a module independently, mentoring junior consultants, and engaging directly with client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP ISU Device Management (DM) processes including device installation, removal, replacement, and device history tracking.
• Handle end-to-end configuration of Technical Master Data — Connection Objects, Premises, Installations, Devices, Device Categories, Register Groups, and Rate Types.
• Work extensively on Meter Reading (MR) processes — MR order creation, upload/download of meter reading results, plausibility checks, and MR unit configuration.
• Manage Device Management integration with Billing, Invoicing, and Move-In/Move-Out (MIMO) processes.
• Configure and support AMI/Smart Metering integration (IDEX, EDM/MDUS) where applicable.
• Lead requirement gathering workshops with business/client stakeholders, prepare Functional Specifications (FS) and Business Blueprint documents.
• Coordinate with ABAP/technical teams for enhancements, RFCs, BAPIs, user exits, and custom developments related to DM.
• Drive integration testing, UAT, cutover, and data migration activities for Device Management objects.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis, and resolution for DM-related incidents (P1/P2 issues).
• Mentor and guide junior consultants; review deliverables for quality and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional SAP ISU teams (FICA, Billing, EDM, CRM) for end-to-end process alignment.
• Prepare and maintain functional documentation, test scripts, and training material.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8-10 years of overall SAP experience, with a minimum of 6-7 years dedicated to SAP ISU Device Management.
• Minimum of 2-3 full lifecycle implementations (design to go-live) in SAP ISU DM, along with rollout/support project experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Meter Reading process configuration and MR order management
• Device installation/removal/replacement workflows
• Register groups, rate types, and profile management
• Integration between DM, Billing, and Invoicing
• Working knowledge of SAP FICA and SAP EDM/Billing module integration points.
• Exposure to Smart Metering / AMI integration (IDEX, third-party MDM systems) is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of ABAP debugging, user exits, BAdIs, and interface architecture (functional-level, not core development).
• Experience in leading data migration/cutover activities for DM objects.
• Prior experience working with utility companies (Electricity, Gas, or Water) is highly preferred.
• Strong client-facing skills — requirement gathering, workshops, stakeholder management.
• Experience in S/4HANA Utilities (C4U) is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical, or related discipline.
• SAP ISU certification is preferred but not mandatory.
