Job summary

Forward Eye Technologies is seeking an experienced ABAP on HANA developer to build and optimize ABAP programs for HANA databases in India. You will write SQL scripts, CDS views, and AMDP for complex data manipulations, and design HANA models to support data-heavy applications.

The role requires designing efficient data models, tuning ABAP code, and aligning developments with S/4HANA best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams for WRICEF objects and UI5/Fiori integration.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of hands-on ABAP programming experience, with at least 2+ years on HANA.
• Expertise in HANA database development, including SQL scripting, CDS Views, and AMDP.
• Strong experience with ABAP on HANA performance tuning and code optimization.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA architecture and best practices.
• Knowledge of SAP UI5/Fiori integration using OData and CDS Views.
• Experience with WRICEF objects development.
• Understanding of SAP modules like SD, MM, FI, CO for functional and technical integration.

Key Responsibilities

ABAP on HANA Development

• Develop and maintain ABAP programs optimized for HANA databases.
• Write and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and CDS (Core Data Services) views for data modeling and extraction.
• Utilize AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) for complex data manipulations.

HANA Modeling and SQL Scripting

• Design and implement HANA models, including Calculation Views, Analytical Views, and Attribute Views.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability, ensuring high-efficiency data retrieval.
• Work closely with functional teams to define data models and provide efficient solutions for data-intensive applications.

Performance Tuning

• Conduct performance tuning of ABAP programs running on HANA, ensuring minimal data footprint and optimized runtime.
• Use SQL Trace, ABAP Trace, and other performance tools to identify bottlenecks and optimize code.

SAP S/4HANA Integration

• Work on SAP S/4HANA projects, ensuring all ABAP developments align with S/4HANA best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for implementing and enhancing custom functionality.

Custom Developments

• Develop custom WRICEF (Workflows, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) objects using ABAP on HANA.
• Extend standard SAP functionalities and customize them as per business requirements using User Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancements.

CDS and OData Integration

• Develop and implement CDS Views for real-time reporting and data extraction.
• Create and maintain OData services for integrating SAP with front-end Fiori/UI5 applications.

Testing and Documentation

• Perform unit testing of ABAP developments and support integration testing activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, including technical specifications, test scripts, and user guides.

Required Skills

• 5-9 years of hands-on experience in ABAP programming, with at least 2+ years on HANA.
