Job summary

Premier Fine Linens in India is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design and deliver ABAP programs, interfaces, reports and forms for SAP deployments. You will collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

You will perform unit testing, assist system testing, troubleshoot ABAP issues, and provide technical guidance to the team to ensure high-quality deliverables across ECC and S/4HANA environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in developing Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Smart Forms and SAP Scripts (RICEF).
• Proficient in ABAP concepts including OO, ABAP Dictionary, and performance tuning.
• Experience with ALE, IDOCs, EDI integrations and SAP S/4HANA.
• Good understanding of FI/CO, MM, SD, PP modules and SAP Fiori development.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver SAP ABAP programs, interfaces, reports, and forms.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing and support system testing, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAP ABAP.
• Provide technical guidance to the team members as required.

Core Technical Skills

• Candidate should possess excellent technical knowledge and should have strong experience in developing Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Smart Forms and SAP Scripts (RICEF).
• Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP programming concepts, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs), ABAP Dictionary.
• Performance Tuning of programs using SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis.
• Interfacing knowledge related to ALE, IDOCs & EDI.
• Strong hands-on in Function modules, BAPI & RFCs.
• Should have extensively worked in User Exits and BADIs.
• Hands-on Experience in SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in CDS, AMDP, OData Services and new ABAP syntax will be an add-on.
• Good understanding of SAP coding standards and best practices from both ECC and HANA.
• Experience in working on SAP implementation projects.
• Good understanding of SAP functional modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, etc.
• SAP Fiori App development experience would be added advantage.
• SAP ABAP certification would be an added advantage.

The candidate will be evaluated based on one of the following experience brackets:

Profile 1: 3 - 5 Years Experience

• Business Process & Function: Good business process understanding and good functional SAP knowledge.
• Implementation: Experience with at least one Greenfield implementation (not just support projects).
• Basis & Security: Basic understanding of Roles & Authorizations.
• Reports: Experienced in developing complex and all types of reports for multiple modules.
• Interfaces: Basic core understanding with limited hands-on experience.
• Conversions: Thorough in file conversions, E-mail alerts, and Screen recording programs.
• Enhancements (Module Pool): Good experience developing custom screen programs using screen painter, BAPIs, Function Modules, and BDCs.
• Enhancements (Standard Screens): Moderate experience modifying standard screens/reports using BADIs and exits.
• Forms: Very good experience creating simple printable forms (e.g., picklists, job cards) via Smartforms and Adobe Forms.

Profile 2: 5+ Years Experience

• Business Process & Function: Very good functional SAP knowledge and deep insight into the business processes of past projects.
• Implementation: Experience with one or more Greenfield implementations (not just support projects).
• Basis & Security: Basic Basis knowledge, including User ID, Roles/Authorizations, and SAP License management.
• Reports: Highly experienced in developing complex and all types of reports across multiple modules.
• Interfaces: Hands‑on experience integrating SAP with non-SAP systems (e.g., POS systems, Vinculum WMS).
• Conversions: Thorough in file conversions, E-mail alerts, and Screen recording programs.
• Enhancements (Module Pool): Advanced experience with custom screens, BAPIs, Function Modules, and specialized GUI features for both PC/Tablet and scanning-enabled designs.
• Enhancements (Standard Screens): Deep experience modifying standard screens (e.g., adding fields to reports, implementing custom validations via BADIs, User Exits, and Customer Exits).
• Forms: Extensive experience building complex printable layouts (e.g., Invoices, Packing Lists, Purchase Orders, MRP/HU labels) via Smartforms and Adobe Forms.
