Job summary

eGov Foundation seeks a seasoned professional to anchor the Manhole to Machinehole initiative, guiding FSM, desludging, and worker safety across India.

You will lead field activities, validate SOPs, and coordinate with ULBs, NGOs, and private partners to scale solutions while ensuring dignity for sanitation workers and alignment with policy goals.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in sanitation or faecal sludge management (FSM) operations.
• Deep understanding of how sanitation systems work on the ground.
• Knowledge of ground realities, desludging processes, and ecosystem connections with ULBs, NGOs, and service providers.
• Strong commitment to worker dignity and ending manual scavenging in India.

Requirements

• Practical problem-solving mindset with hands-on experience
• Willingness to travel across states, visit sites, and work alongside frontline workers
• Experience with mechanized desludging and worker safety protocols
• Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders including government bodies, NGOs, and private sector
• Ideally based in Bangalore
• This is an 18-month contract position
